A fascinating medieval fortress perfectly preserved by the owners, a Sardinian noble family, this castle is in itself at the centre of medieval history, being Sanluri the sight of a fierce battle after which most part of the island became part of the Spanish crown. Having said that, it also contains interesting collections: colonial war, I and II world war and a collection of wax sculptures one shouldn't miss.
On your way to the castle, stop at one of the many town bakeries and try the traditiona semolina wheat loaf "civraxu", maybe with some cheese or cold meat. You won't regret it!
