We are twice in this simple but great little restaurant. It is very popular so I suggest you book or arrive there very early or late. It is only open at lunchtimes. To order you go to the counter and choose from the display or the verbal menu. You can also point at what other people are having. For starters there were marinated anchovies and stuffed mussels amongst others. There is no waitress service. Everything is cooked to order. We chose linguine with seafood (mussels and clams) which was absolutely delicious and finished our meal with homemade cake which was scrumptious too. With an offered glass of amaro, our bills were well around EUR 25 for two, including wine and coffee. Thoroughly recommended.

This place was different from other places in Cagliari. Owned by elderly couple, it is a tiny place wit a few tables and kitchen. We were in this place 2 times and had delicious fresh pasta with fish and clams. The best value for money, atmosphere is unique. Best place for quick and comfort lunch! I absolutely recommend this place. P.s. it is open only for lunch, better boock in advance

The place is, actually, a takeaway food shop, with a very limited space to eat-in (approx 20 places).
My suggestion is to book a table and eat-in, and enjoy the homely environment and the customary behavior of the Sardinian people, which is sincere, direct, and, to a certain extent, rough :)
Main advantages for the foreigner:
1) you don't need to speak english. just point-and-eat what's on the display. ask for a spaghetti (or pasta) main course, they usually have two. They usually are seafood (clams spaghetti, the masterpiece) or fish-based ("molto pesce" means "a lot of fish" with spaghetti)
2) It is a true joy to see the cook working on your freshly-prepared meal :)
3) it is a friendly environment, with tourists and regular customers that can help and give advice
on what to eat and what to do next ;-)
4) it is in the most caracteristic district of the city centre, near the port, the Sant'Eulalia church and its buried roman path, the piazza Yenne and all the main bus routes.

Beware:
1) they only speak Italian but they are able, as most Italians do, to communicate somehow :)
2) there is prepared food (which HAS to be prepared earlier as the recipe states) and fresh made food
3) at first, price may seem high, compared to a "traditional" restaurant, but quality and quantity are -way- better than "traditionals"
4) it opens only at lunch. Monday closed
