We hired a scooter this way we got to go to the little bays out of reach also enjoyed a bus ride up the mountains. This place is not for party going, retail shoppers as its under developed and thankfully unspoilt. If your in to rock climbing its one for you found little information about the correct days that things are open even the tourist information are not in touch, got a train to Sassari on a narrow gage railway that was fun but didn't think much of Sassari the art gallery was only open one day a week and it was the day we were there. Good ice-creams.

Got there in the likely busiest week of summer. There were only about 100 people on the long and wide golden sand beach. Crystal clear water and beautiful nature surrounding the whole bay.
Great place to go if you are looking for a day off the crowd.

We took a leisurely walk along to Porto Ferro along the sea edge stopping occasionally to admire the view and watch the sail surfers. Because it was early in the season it was not crowded. Half way there is a cafeteria that sells drinks and snacks and has toilet facilities. Not ideal access from the beach if have disability because of several steps up to reach the cafeteria. Because we stopped a few times to admire the scenery it took us around 1hr 30mins to reach our destination. Very quiet but as previously mentioned still early in the season so not many people around.
