Ok, I do not want to give a positive review. The reason I don't is because I want to keep it to myself. I don't want anyone to have the brilliant holiday my family and I had. Your hosts, Annarita and Antonio are the real deal. They can't do enough to help you right from the word go. We loved every minute we spent in this wonderful villa. The house is beautiful. 3 Very large bedrooms with very comfortable, clean beds. The bedding is changed twice a week. The cleaners are like tornados - they come in and clean the house like whirlwind - two lovely ladies.
The beach is a walk away and very beautiful. Brindisi is gorgeous and the whole area is unspoilt. Great restaurants - again, Antonio and Annarita have all the information you need. They tell you to call them if you need anything, advice etc. They really do mean it, nothing is too much trouble. Flying from the UK there are direct flights into Brindisi. The airport is literally a few minutes away. The Villa is situated close to the Airport, yes you can hear the planes land and take off. We got used to it in a day. Brindisi Airport is not Heathrow, Paris or Dublin. The high hedging muffles the sound but I promise, you will hardly notice, you will be far too busy enjoying yourself. Bari airport is only 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car. We ate at a Pizzeria in Brindisi on 4 occassions (beautiful food). 4 beers, 4 pizzas and 2 desserts 45 euro! There are other very good restaurants also. The bay area is absolutely beautiful.
The house itself has all you need. The hosts supply bottled water although the tap water is fine for tea and coffee. Outside there is a full kitchen, seating for 20+ . Outside shower with hot water. Huge BBQ too. The gardens and plants etc are magnificent.
There is a large shopping centre about 10 minutes away by car. Lots of shops and a huge supermarket. When we were there (1st 2 weeks of July), there were very good sales on in nearly all stores. But, I would reccommend the local supermarket, I think it's called DOC. It's a short car journey awayfrom the Villa. We found this shop to be as cheap as the big supermarket and cheaper for many items including wine and beer.
A car is essential. I spent a lot of time online checking out car hire. The company that seems to be the cheapest.... (begins with an L), is in fact quite expensive when you look into it. We went with eurpopecar which I believe gives the best value for money.
The people here are very friendly, the shop staff remember you and chat to you! By the way, neither my wife or I have any connection to the owners or to Brindisi or to any car hire or restaurants. We have been holidaying in Italy for years but this was our first time to Brindisi. I really can't recommend Villa Cassa Salento highly enough. We spent 2 glorious weeks there and we have already booked for next year. I was totally relaxed at the end of my stay and can't wait to return. If you have half as good a time as we did then you will have a very, very good holiday.
