This is an old restaurant and their specialties are seafood which are fresh from the surrounding waters of Venice. People say they serve classic italian dishes but i think it was cooked a bit different. We ordered the lobsters, the shrimps, the oysters, the sea bass. Every dish was cooked really deliciously well. But what stood out in our dinner was one of our desserts called “crepe do forni”...out of this world.
There are three eating areas in this restaurant. The first part which is the room upon entering, is decorated with glossy laminated wood reminiscent to the look of the Orient Express. The second room felt like the original restaurant because everything was old. The third part is a bit new. We sat in the old room and the ambience for me played an important role.
So the next time you visit Venice and are in the mood for old gracious venetian hospitality, head over to Do Forni.
