“Fantastic Location, Great place to base ourselves for Venice”

This was our second visit to Venice.
Last time we stayed in a hotel on one of the smaller canals across from Teatro La Fenice however this time as we had my partners mother and sister travelling with us we thought we would try an apartment so that we could all stay together and by chance found Centrale Venice Apartments.
There were several reasons that we chose to stay here being:
• Location – as it was literally around the corner from St. Marks, Doges Palace, Museo Correr, the Grand Canal and most other places that you want to visit.
• Facilities – it has 3 double bedrooms which was ideal for us as we required 3 beds and it also had 2 bathrooms with one being a small ensuite to the most distant bedroom and the other being a large bathroom which also had a washing machine which was another plus.
• Kitchen, Dining and lounge area was great for breakfast and had the essential facilities that you needed but was also compact enough.
• Terrace – was a nice area to chill and have a drink before venturing out again for dinner.
• Price – the apartment ended up costing us about the same as our small 1 bedroom hotel had cost us last time we stayed in Venice, so it was a real bargain for 4 adults travelling together and could have easily accommodated 3 couples and also had a 4th room that could have been used as a kids bedroom if required.
• Great restaurants and bars tucked in the nearby side streets.
On arrival we phoned the accommodation to confirm that we had arrived and were now in the water taxi from the airport so that they would be there to meet us when we arrived. They asked to talk to the water taxi driver and explained exactly where they needed to drop us off for the apartment and were there waiting for us when we arrived and even helped with our luggage to get to the apartment and up the stairs. Could not fault the greeting or assistance or the directions provided prior to arriving either.
Yes there are stairs, 2, floors of them and they are quite steep so you will get your exercise during your stay climbing up and down these as there is no lift. We were aware of this at the time of booking and it wasn’t a problem for us even with the 75 year old mother in law but if you have mobility issues it might be a problem.
On how to get to the apartment from the airport after doing to bus and vaporetto last time we visited, the water taxi is the only way to arrive. You feel like movie stars speeding towards the awaiting city of Venice and it makes the 20+ hour flight from Australia and jetlag fade away.
During our stay we only had one small issue on the first morning where the kettle didn’t work so we used a pan on the stove instead and sent an email to the manager to let them know that the kettle didn’t work. Within a couple of hours that morning we were contacted to say they would send a new kettle to the apartment in the next hour and that if we were not there they would put it in the apartment for us. Needles to say when we got back later that day a new kettle was waiting for us as promised. It’s a fact of travelling that things don’t always go to plan of might not work but its how this is dealt with that makes the difference and again we could not fault the service in resolving this minor issue.
Being an apartment you also had to complete a rental agreement and return it and also provide a bond which is refunded after departure. Again no issues and the bond was refunded back into our bank account before we had finished the rest of our holiday.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone, it was a great find.

“Beautiful Apartment, centrally located!”

This apartment is perfectly situated down a side street within metres of St Mark's Square. We had planned to book this apartment for the duration of our sojourn to Venice but a booking confusion meant that we were double booked for part of the stay. We maintained part of our original booking here due to short notice and trying to find apartments of equitable quality in the area. This apartment is perfect for a family visit to Venice. On arrival we were met by a very helpful lady who escorted us to the apartment (hidden down a small alley next to some very exclusive shops) and while showing us ute amenities gave us very helpful advice about our visit to Venice (areas to drink, eat, avoid, do shopping, tourist traps etc). Having been to Venice previously I was no worried but this hands on advice from a local is invaluable if you are a first time visitor. The apartment was spotless. Lovely, well furnished rooms and a location that was perfect for our needs. The cost is excellent for such a high quality apartment so close to the central point of Venice. I have no bad points except that I wish we could have kept this apartment for our whole stay...we did find ta suitable and very nice second apartment but there was the hassle of moving mid stay. An integrated kitchen is available but as a non cook and being on holiday near so many quality restaurants we did not really use more than than the sink and fridge. I would recommend this apartment.
