Beautiful, historic hotel. Overall very happy with the hotel. The rooms are massive, the service is exceptional. They have a beautiful garden. It is a little of the beaten path but that is a good thing since you are away from the massive amounts of tourists. The breakfast is amazing.

If you take the orange ferry line from the airport it is the first stop (15 min ride) and then 2 min walk to the hotel. The hotel offers a free water shuttle service to the main square and you are a 10-15 min walk to the train station.

A few things that knock it from 5 to 4 stars: 1) the lobby is warm and humid (when it’s humid outside). 2) The WiFi reaches the entire hotel but only really works in the lobby. 3) Mosquitoes are prevalent in Venice are are so around the hotel and I’ve been bitten by a few inside. They do spray. 3) And finally my hotel room bed, while large, was a very hard mattress and made for 2 nights with some tossing and turning.

Great hotel away from the main streets of Venice. Friendly staff throughout the hotel who are very willing to help. We stayed in a first floor garden room which means a walk through the gardens to get to it. Nicely decorated and larger than our friends room in the main hotel. Excellent buffet breakfast included in our stay. The complimentary boat to Murano is a bit like a timeshare trip. You are met at the dock by pushy sales staff who want you to buy vastly expensive glass. Get the local water bus and look around on your own terms

Room tip: If in a garden room take mosquito spray. And spray yourself before you go anywhere. We got bitten a lot

The staff is remarkably nice and helpful. They go out of their way to accommodate hotel guests. The hotel is a hidden gem with a beautiful garden behind the hotel. Breakfast buffet is amazing with fresh fruits, nuts...

You are in a quiet neighborhood on the opposite side of city and 30 minutes walking from San Marco or 15 minutes by boat. Hotel has free shuttle every 90 minutes to and from San Marco. I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed just one night with a girlfriend on a sort of “Babymoon”. I couldn’t have been more pleased with our room, the service, the unimaginable garden, the complimentary boat service, or the location. After being in Venice once before and overwhelmed by crowds.m, this neighborhood changed my view for the better. Great, local spots and room to breath. Stop in Vino Vero for a glass of wine!

The hotel is in a lovely, quiet area in Venice. The receptionists and desk clerks were friendly and professional. We had a very large room overlooking the garden, but it was a bit dated and a little dreary. The bath towels were nice, but when just fell apart on us, probably from over use. The boat rides to Morano and St. mark's Square were lovely, but not free as the website says, as there is a daily resort fee. The most disappointing part of our stay was the bar/breakfast/lounge situation. There is not a nice place to sit in the lobby and the bar is tiny. Breakfast was awful! I think they would be better off serving less items in the buffet and improving on the quality of their food. The fruit was blah, the cereals stale, and the nuts almost rancid. The American coffee was tasteless and the other coffees were luke warm. Also, there were pigeons constantly going after foods left on table, knocking plates and glasses over, and landing on the tables themselves.

Dear Marie Louise D,
Thank you for choosing Grand Hotel dei Dogi, The Dedica Anthology .
Our goal is to make the stay of our guest as enjoyable as they would like it to be and we are always committed to meet and exceed guest expectations.
Thank you very much for your positive comments regarding our friendly staff.
With regards to the specific points you raised in your feedback, we would like to apologize for not having meet your expectations.
As for the pigeons, we understand that they meant a big trouble to you. However, we ask you as well to kindly understand that every open space in Venice experiences the same problem. Since they are protected by laws and used to tourists, pigeons have become tireless fearless animals. We do appreciate your comments on the matter, since they help us to understand how important and urgent it is to deal with this issue for our customer's comfort.
That is why we thank you for your review, which will be proven useful in our property's growth process.

Kind regards,
Chiara Zambianchi
Deputy Manager
