This restaurant and cicchetti bar was recommended in Rick Steves' Pocket Guide to Venice and turned out to be very near our apartment so we walked down one morning to check it out. One of the locals saw us checking it out and urged us to give it a try. He said it was one of his favorites in Venice. We ended up going here twice during our week in Venice. It is a small place so a reservation is highly recommended. The menu is on a chalk board and everything we tried was outstanding. The mixed seafood plate ended up on the top of our list. If you don't make a reservation and can't get a table you can always execute Plan B and have cicchetti. There were lots of people doing that. Service varies greatly depending on who waits on you however the quality of the food and charm of the place more than compensates for any lack of attention.

Found this place off the beaten track by chance, oh my god it’s sooooo rustic. Chalk board in Italian obviously with all the menu, on the wall. Kiki this amazing multi linguist, comes over a makes the dishes sound amazing and really sells the food to us. Not many covers so book if you can. Food was fantastic along with the staff, all local cuisine done in a rustic simplistic manner. Kiki looked after us and we felt totally at ease. Only complaint is no air con on a very hot night. But still didn’t stop me giving it a full marks.

We were looking for delicious pasta in a non-touristy place, and this was it. Very authentic. The burrata and figs salad and the eggplant ravioli were amazing. Highly recommend.

Very traditional and friendly place.
The food is typical with good choice. Taste is excellent with friendly service from almost all the staff.
Better to book if you wish to get a seat.

This little bar is tucked away in the little alley ways of Venice. Its definitely worth searching out. The cichetti was really fresh and tasty. The spritz was cheap and the duke box was playing Arab Strap and Gorkys Zygotic Munki - unexpected to say the least but fricken great.
