I'm sure at the right time of year it's brilliant. WE ended up here by mistake took a wrong turn after viewing The Cathedral.
it's supposed to be one of the great markets of the World.

Such a nice big market - we bought nice shoes for 5-10 Euros. Also the food market is super - local cheese and the freshest fruit and spices. Very cool. Very local. The later you come the cheeper the prices. I got a kilo of the freshest strawberries for only 1 Euro!!! :)

It is claimed to be the largest food market in Europe. If you like markets this is an absolute must. Plan to spend more time that you'll think. Visit the open air market for fruit and veggies but do not forget to spend some time in the covered adjacent areas as well. It is a true melting pot of people and foods! I always get the fish there which is always fresh. If you are a foreigner, bear in mind that Italian laws about foods are the strictest in the world, so enjoy with no fear!

Prices are really cheap, but it is not clear where the foodstaff comes from. There is also a feeling of insecurity
