Our 2 day stay at the Milan Four Seasons was one of the best hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had, thank you to the entire staff at the hotel for making the Four Seasons a luxury stay that this review cant possibly begin to describe !

I have stayed with my husband at the Four Season Hotel for 5 nights and had a wonderful experience.
The service was outstanding, staff members are very helpful, polite and professional.
The food in the dinning area was excellent and room service too.
The Director of Guest Relations Ms. Serap Mesutoglu was very helpful and accommodating with our needs.
We will definitely return to this hotel again as it was certainly an enjoyable experience.

From the service to the dining to the room, everything is the best here. The location is superb, in the heart of the the Fashion District. We were addressed by name in the restaurant. The spa, while small, is perfectly maintained, and I had a wonderful massage. Long ago when I stayed at the hotel, one could fire up a Cuban cigar in the bar, but those days are gone. Progress!(?) But I did take a drink at night and smoke in the enclosed courtyard.

Only issue we faced, while is really a Milan issue, not a Four Seasons issue, is that Milan is really buggy in the summer. The hotel provided an electric device to keep mosquitoes away from us in the room, and we did not have any problems en suite.

Over the years I have grown accostummed to hotels of the level of Hilton, Carlton, Waldorf and Kempinski. This was our first visit to a FS hotel and the difference was noticeable! This is a different level of luxury. The lobby area, the bar, the garden, the spa/pool (exquisite) and the rooms are all beautiful.
Only drawbacks were: Our room (suite) was rather small and there was a stench in our closet. Also it seemed that garbage collection in the street took place every morning around 6 AM....
Advantage: We got to meet Depeche Mode - in the flesh! (we were in Milan for the show)........priceless!

The Four Seasons is located on a quiet side street within easy walking distance of the major cultural attractions and the main shopping and dining area. It can't be beat in this regard.

Overall this is a wonderful property with it's unique location, traditional architecture and central garden. It's a great hotel but a few things are not up to the expected Four Seasons standard.

Vittorio and his concierge team are top notch in their knowledge and detailed helpfulness. Great directions and thoughtful recommendations including consideration for our kids, 8 and 15.

The breakfast and the morning team in the restaurant were excellent and the courtyard setting is perfect. I arrived back from a run one morning just after they had removed the early morning lobby coffee service but one of the team recognized what I was looking for and fixed me up quickly.

The same setting and the food itself at lunch were also top notch but we were left waiting with no attention for long intervals and finally had to go inside to search for someone to close out our bill.

We had adjoining rooms set up nicely for a family of four. They were convenient in how they were connected and both rooms were spacious. The decor was classical but furnishings, towels, etc just seemed a bit tired. We also got visited for evening turndown service at 10pm, after our kids were asleep and really kind of late. The front desk team was empathetic and made sure it was right the next night.

The gym is small but has everything you need, and on both visits I was the only one there. It was however too hot and stuffy. The pool is an incredible part of the architecture as it is a converted wine cellar - unique and interesting. We found out on arrival at the pool that kids' hours are limited. This is fine but is a point that should be noted when checking in with kids.

We are pretty frequent guests globally at Four Seasons properties and we usually get recognized as such. In this case not. All that said it is probably still the finest place in Milano but could use a few tune ups with the team and facilities.
