This is a very nice restaurant and was recommended by the owner of the apartment we have rented in Mantua. It has a very interesting mix of traditional food with some fresh twists in a pleasant, modern space a short walk from the centre of town.

I had two local specialties, Pike with a sweet and sour sauce which was fresh and light in texture with subtle sweet and sour notes. This was followed by pumpkin tortelli ( which included ameretti in the mix as is the local tradition). The touch of sweetness was not overdone and added another dimension to the flavour. Both dishes were very good.

My husband had a capon salad in a creamy dressing, another local specialty, followed by the fish of the day, swordfish. It had little ovals of a vegetable mixture with it. Not sure what it was but it complemented the swordfish well.

We shared a salad and, with two glasses of wine, the meal cost 66 Euros-the standard sort of price for such a meal in Northern Italy, we have found.

If you are interested in trying good food from Mantua, this restaurant is well worth a visit.

We had a lovely dinner, the food was amazing and the chef was very kind and helpful. The price was ridiculous for that quality!
I'll see you next year!

This is a little jewel not so far from the city centre. Not big, kind of cosy atmosphere, not many tables, nice lighting and simple but warm decor.
Food wise you could find all of the typical and more traditional dishes of the Mantova area, as well as more fast forward recipes, all deliciously presented. Good wine list and very helpful staff, genuinely chatty and always very caring.
For the type of food and all the above, not particularly expensive too. We love it, if that was not clear enough!

A very interesting mix of tradition and innovation in this small and nice restaurant. Very good food, top quality service and a wide choice of wines. The Tiramisu’ with sparkling chocolate deservs a special mention!
