Located in the center of Stresa (not far from the lakefront ring road, and with adjacent public parking lot), is this modern gem of a restaurant. Thank goodness we had made reservations as they were fully booked on the Saturday night of our visit, and on this rather chilly night, most people turned down the only solution of outdoor seating. We were seated in the glassed-in back dining room. A complimentary glass of prosecco and a delicious amuse-bouche (crusted ricotta ball with crispy prosciutto chip) were immediately served to get our meal off to a great start. We chose to share a pasta dish (tagliattini with a sweet onion sauce) for a first course, then a perfectly-rendered, crispy-skinned duck breast for me and a fork-tender filet for my husband. Filet is never a first choice for him, but he was more than happy with this one. The wine list (including lots of affordable by-the-glass selections) was also first class. The service was friendly and unpretentious. If you are in Stresa, you will never find a better meal.
