Our first dinner since arriving in Italy was a winner, from the first bite of a complimentary bruschetta to the last bite of a chocolate pear cake dessert. I had the prix dinner for the evening, which included a Divine Bolognese sauce over homemade pasta, schnitzel and fries, and that dessert, with a 1/4 liter of very decent house barbera and cup of espresso-all for 20 EUR. My wife chose a salad misto and homemade macaroni with delicious smoked char sauce. All were tasty and served at just the right temperature by an attentive wait staff. We'll have a hard time topping this experience as we spend the next week on lakes Maggiore and como.
