Absolutely beautiful property and views of the sea. Enjoyed true European breakfast each morning and the pool area is breathtaking. 12' deep pool. We enjoyed the beach area and lounge chairs by the rocky shore. Our family of four (5 year old and 8 year old) had adjoining rooms with garden view and it was ideal for us. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend it!

We stayed here for three nights in July and had a wonderful experience. While this is not a small hotel, it has the feel of one with personable and high level service. We had a room in the back of the hotel, facing a pleasant park, which was very quiet. The room was nicely appointed and modern, and supplied daily with drinks. The view from the front of the hotel, where you can have an aperitivo and watch the Mediterranean is only bested but the view from the pool deck. We used the pool a lot and had lunch there several times. The service levels and attentiveness were excellent and we loved the large, old pool. Finally, the beach is a few steps across the street and the hotel has spots at the beach club there. We would highly recommend staying here. The location is just south of the main port area, and on the way to Portofino, which was nice as it was not as busy. Santa Margherita Ligure is a good place to spend time in the area, given its proximity to Portofino and the fact that the town is a nice size with plenty of restaurants and other activities nearby.

Absolutely loved our stay. The grounds, the staff, and the setting are first-rate. The views from our balcony were breathtaking. Wish we could have stayed much longer. Even an on-premises broken toe mishap could not detract from the experience.

Hotel is in a nice location with a nice view. Staff are generally helpful. Breakfast is by the terrace overlooking the water. Room is quaint with a balcony overlooking the garden. The only problem I have with this hotel is their acoustics. The walls were super thin and we were between two rooms whose occupants constantly argued (I can hear the details of their arguments). Aside from that when they raised or lowered their blinds (which was quite often) I would hear them. Or when they would move their luggage or the furniture I can hear them. It was quite annoying but the hotel could not accommodate a room transfer because the hotel was full and had no way to make the guests keep quiet. Because of this I slept poorly and was not relaxed throughout my stay.

3/ This is a place you will want to return to. We stayed two nights and really wish we could have stayed longer.

The hotel has a long history, but is fully updated and will feel quite new. Service is top notch, the rooms are perfect (with great views), etc.

One reason we booked was that Santa Margarita Ligure is near Portofino. One can walk to Portofino, though after Rome and Pisa we decided we'd had enough walking. The hotel arranged a taxi.

The hotel has a pool and its own beach access, making it a nice halfway stop on any trip to Italy.

This is not an inexpensive hotel, but your only disappointment will be having to leave.

(Previous stop was Hotel Bologna, Pisa, next was Hotel Spadai, Florence.)
