A old (1877) pink building very near the sea and a short walk to the train station. Rooms were clean and buffet breakfast was typical. Staff were very friendly. There was a small but nice bar, which was a great place to sip some lemoncello. The bartender also provide hot water for evening tea, as the room did not have a coffee/tea service.

This hotel has the perfect location! The lobby and and lower level have been updated. As soon as you get off the elevator the carpeting is old and disgusting. The hairdryer is from the 70's and needs to be updated. Don't know why they put such high tubs in hotel rooms. The room was clean but needs much updating. No hot food at breakfast so can't give a good review for that.

- Location:
Prime location in Rapallo, one block from waterfront,
Walk distance to the train station,
Right at the center of restaurants and bars.
Walk distance to bus station to Portofino
Walk distance to the Montallegro Cable Car.
- Staff:
Courteous, knowledgeable and respectful.
We booked our room online and the reception offered the first floor(second floor to us). After I asked for the higher floor, she changed the room to the fourth floor, with balcony overlooking the waterfront.
- Room,
Well sized, modern design and furniture with large closet and safe. Our room had a 50"+ tv, large desk with a pony table and two nice chairs. Overlooking the street means noise, while the glass door to the balcony is open but the acoustic door makes it quiet. The higher the room the better the view.
- Bathroom,
Good size with all the standard amenities. Water pressure is fine.
- Internet,
Reasonable speed with a password.
- Breakfast
Class A breakfast, egg & bacon, cold cuts, jam and butter, cheese, cookies, multiple types fruit juices, bottled water, multiple types bread and buns, tea, coffee, fresh fruits. Artisan coffees served by request.

Room Tip: Westside rooms are quieter than others with no views. Southside rooms directly see the waterfront.

This hotel is definitely not 4 star. The rooms are very, very tired. The breakfast is worse than basic. The air con does not work properly meaning we had two nights of little sleep (and we only stayed when temperatures were mid-20 degrees) and the noise of the church bells and the train early in the morning is terrible (made worse by the window being open on the first night because we couldn't sleep with the heat).

It's just not a good hotel. Maybe 40 years ago but not now. Do not stay here - you might not hate it, but you certainly won't enjoy it and you'll find other places better I'm sure.

This is not a four star hotel. It isn't anywhere near that. The rooms are small, the bathroom is tiny and from a long ago era. We tried switching rooms, even that did not work. They are all the same, except in our latest one the bathroom ceiling light flashes like a strobe and no one seems in a rush to fix it. The carpets are worn and dirty, the wallpaper in the hallway is torn. The air conditioning in the room rattles loudly. They do have a great photographer and web designer, though. You'd never know that the rooms depicted on the website were the ones available. It was so bad we called American Express and told them to find us someplace else to stay.
