We visited for a long weekend and opted for the Grand Savoia based upon the positive reviews and the desire for a historical hotel with Italian atmosphere. The hotel is very convenient if you are arriving via train at Principe Station, as we were, where it is no more than a 500 foot walk to the hotel. The hotel is very nice from the outside but quite small when you step into the lobby. The desk was well attended and our check-in was swift, by Italian standards. Everyone at check-in was also pleasant and welcoming. We had booked a larger room which was located on a lower floor. The room was larger by European standards, although the bathtub and sink in the room was a bit odd. The bathroom itself was very small and consisted of a shower, small sink, and toilet. The room decor was old style but in reasonable shape and we found the room to be comfortable, but not luxurious by any stretch. Location of the hotel required a bit of walking to get to the historical sites, but certainly not enough to suggest the location was not good. In the end Genoa is not that large so it is not so difficult to walk nearly anywhere. Overall the hotel was pleasant and likely one of the better properties in Genoa, but certainly not the standard that one would likely find in Milan, Turin, etc.

JUST PERFECT!! What a wonderful hotel. The rooms are amazing. Fantastic location- right across the street from the train station. The staff here are beyond helpful as well. Incredible breakfast and the restaurant Tralalero is delicious too! Amazing roof top bar with incredible views. So much fun to watch the sunset at night with a nice wine and then view the city lighting up at night. Would stay here again for sure!

Had a pleasant stay at this recently renovated hotel, located close to the train station which was convenient for us since we arrived by train. This hotel is also close to the port area and so should be convenient for tourists prior to - or after - cruiseliner holidays. Sadly, the port area itself is dodgy and made me feel unsafe, so I would caution about walking aimlessly in the port area especially at night. Of course, this is no fault of the hotel which is lovely inside and was a safe and comfortable haven during our brief stay.

Hotel welcoming, friendly and helpful. Spacious room and bathroom, very clean, easy walk to where we wanted to go. Across from train station, so easy to access. Called a cab for us in the morning. Great experience. Wonderful buffet breakfast with lots of variety.

I could say, Savoia is the best hotel in town. Prefect location-close to main principal station, but the same time a quite street.
The spa and the pool are beautiful.
Everyone extremely kind.
Comfortable rooms, very clean with all the amenities and the good smells.
Very nice the seven floor and the hall. TOP!!!
