This was our third try at a "well reviewed" restaurant on TA, and admittedly is was the best so far. But that's not really saying much.

We went for lunch and ordered 3 dishes and only the slow cooked pork was worth a mention. The pasta dish was cold and too al dente, which I found a fault in countless other roman restaurants. How can an trattoria serve cold food? The pork dish was quite delicious though, and I would ALMOST go back for that alone, but...nah.

We went to Ditirambo 6 years ago and loved it, so we definitely wanted to return. It was not as fantastic as we remembered, but we had a great meal, the service was fine, and they were very gracious about a bottle of wine that may have been "corked" that we didn't want. The cost was very reasonable as well. There were 8 of us, we had 5 bottles of wine, and it was something like 240 EUR.

This restaurant was a big disappointment. I did quite a bit of homework before we left to find the perfect places. The service is not good and the waiter we had was not very friendly. Seeing that they were not busy when we arrived, you would have thought they would have been happy to have people sitting outside to lure people there. The food was ok but wished we would have gone to the other restaurant across from them- the Grappolo d' Oro. I would not waste a precious meal at this place if you only have a few nights to enjoy Rome.

It pains me to write a bad review, as I usually only review places where I had a positive experience, but this was our worst food experience in Rome. We walked in about 9 pm without reservations (they did not fill up during the magic 9-11 hr.) and were totally ignored for 5-10 min., very uncomfortable. It appeared they had one waitress doing 90% of the work, and she has our sympathy. However, her best efforts did not make up for the mediocre quality of the food. I'm not sure if the rabbit ragu was made with rabbit or ground beef, couldn't tell the difference. . We were exhausted from watching her by meals end, and were ready to leave ASAP. Ditirambo needs to up their game in both service and quality of food. Will not be back.

A friend said this was the restaurant we had to go to in Rome. Turned out to be our least favorite restaurant on the entire 10 day vacation. Our server never cracked a smile or was helpful with questions we asked. The lasagna was the worst lasagna I've ever had. The fish was good but the portion was small. Definitely go somewhere else.
