We were held up on arrival at the airport, but Maria was very relaxed about waiting for us and showing us everything when we finally arrived. She had baked us a cake and recommended a great local pizza restaurant for our hungry teenagers.
The apartment has plenty of space, and is literally next door to a great little supermarket and the bus station, so logistics were easy. Favourites were the coffee machine, compete with capsules, and an interesting view of the observatory on the hill. The old fashioned style of the appartment and the lift were charming. We felt safe on the nearby streets and the area is quieter than more central parts.
There are aspects which could do with updating, but it was great value overall and we had a comfortable stay.

A home made cake was was very welcome on our arrival. We were very happy with this accomodation especially my two girls who enjoyed the privacy of their own inter- linked rooms and bathroom whilst the master bedroom and ensuite was roomy and comfortable for us too. About 15 minute walk to the Vatican, the apartment benefits from a supermarket next door and a bakery selling lovely fresh bread just around the corner. There were also some lovely restaurants near by serving fantastic reasonably priced food which were less expensive than in the city.
Not in touristy area but ideal for transport and near enough to walk to Vatican etc. The owner, Maria, was kindness itself and very helpful. Lovely bar to the left and supermarket to the right. We had been to Rome before but if you were new to it and had not prepared, it would be great if there was some literature in the apartment (maps etc). Both bathrooms are en suite so any extra people have to enter one or other of the bedrooms to use it and, although it was not a problem for us, I would imagine it could be for some. If we come back to Rome we would stay here again.
