“Perfecto”

We have just spent a week at La Malva Palace which is located in a perfect location to walk to all the sights ( or you can hop in a reliable, well priced taxi from Ponte Sisto bridge). There are some mini markets and pubs, restaurants etc right outside your front door and a very good Coop supermarket just over the Ponte Sisto bridge and straight ahead on the left.
The apartment consists of a well equipped kitchenette off the stairwell then an ensuite bedroom/lounge with all mod cons on the first floor and a second double ensuite room on the top floor with a two tier terrace. It is all well kept and extremely comfortable. In the winter months it would be better if two more comfy chairs were added to the lounge as its a bit chilly to sit out. Also a hairdryer for the second bedroom would be good. The rooms are heated to your requirement and towels, slippers etc are all provided, with basic toiletry selection and coffee etc.
Lorenzo is the perfect host from start to finish - he responds immediately and nothing is too much trouble. He is English speaking which makes it so much easier and makes your stay stress free.
Whilst the piazza is a bit noisy until about 2am this is part of living in Rome. We felt very safe, everyone was very friendly and if you want a fab beer selection walk next door to Bir & Fud and opposite for a good value meal at Sloppy Sams (get there for happy hour and enjoy antipasti inc).
For two couples sharing a super apartment with your own privacy and facilities in a lovely part of Rome this is definitely the place to stay and highly recommended. A taxi from the airport is €48 all inc and approx €12 from the Termini. It is definitely worth getting to the main sights early - we were at the Colloseum at 0830 and about fourth in the queue, otherwise expect a long wait. Thanks Lorenzo for a lovely holiday in Rome.

“Fantastic apartment in a great location---highly recommended”

We just spent a week in this fantastic apartment. I chose it because we wanted to be in Trastevere and have a rooftop terrace. Also, I liked the photos of the modern decor. We could not have been happier. The apartment is indeed modern and very comfortable, and Lorenzo is a gracious and kind host. Everything about the booking, payment, and arrival was smooth and easy. The apartment itself was a pleasant surprise---even better than we expected. The main bedroom, on the second floor, it huge, bright and airy. The batroom is also large and the rain shower is a treat. the fixtures are all modern and trendy, and of course everything was sparkling clean.

The wide stone staircase curves from the entrance up past the kitchen to the main bedroom, then continues up to the second bedroom. The terrace access is from this bedroom. The terrace actually has two levels----one with mood lighting and a nice table, and a higher one with great views. We enjoyed dining on the terrace and listening to the happy sounds coming from the piazza balow on several nights. The piazza is charming, with a couple of restaurants right there, and a minimart and fruit store as well. There are many other restaurantts within a short walk.

We thought the location was perfect for seeing most of the main sights of Rome. We like to walk, so enjoyed the walk along the river to start our trek---either upriver to reach the Vatican (about 25 minutes) or downriver to the Palatine Bridge to walk through Circus Maximus to the Forum and Colosseum. To reach the central area (Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Vittorio Emmanuel monument, etc., simply cross the Ponte Sisto and continue straight ahead. Or you can walk down to the Garibaldi bridge and catch the #8 tram. also, there is a taxi stand right by Ponte Sisto and it was easy to return from a late night at a restaurant to this spot.

After the hectic crowded street of Rome, it was always a pleasure to return to the charm and more peaceful streets of Trastevere.

Our daughter and her boyfriend joined us the laast few days of our stay, and their luggage unfortunately did not arrive with them. British Airways kept scheduling inconvenient times for the delivery and Lorenzo was very attentive in helping us sort it out. They originally said it would arrive between 7 and 9 pm and Lorenzo stayed late in his office so we could keep our dinner plans. Actually it did not arrive then and we took over the wait and watch---it finally came around 11 am the next day. But throughout the delay Lorenzo kept checking to make sure we didn't need anything. Thank you, Lorenzo!

All in all, I would say this was our favorite apartment we have enjoyed in Italy (and there have been a number of nice ones). I will highly recommend it to family and friends who are going to Rome.

“Found the perfect place!”
Reviewed 27 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This apartment certainly meets the high expectations the description and reviews set.
Everything is at a high standard; furnishings, beds, bathrooms and showers, tvs, ipad, wifi all spot on for cleanliness, comfort and convenience.

The building is ideally located in Trastevere with the buzz and atmosphere of delightful streets, shops, cafes, restaurants and bars right from the doorstep. This is the place to be on a balmy evening in Roma!

A pleasant 20 minute walk alongside the Tiber takes you to the Vatican area and crossing a bridge over the Tiber provides easy walking access to the historic areas of Rome.

Set on several levels off a stone spiralling staircase, the property is best suited to people who don't have any mobility issues. The first level has a small kitchen with all the essentials including 2 ring hob, oven, fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee machine , dinnerware, glasses and utensils. Next level has the largest room with a sofa, tv, large bed and luxurious ensuite shower room. Up again and its a smaller room but still with tv, double bed and shower room and door leading onto the roof terrace.
The roof terrace has table and chairs , canopy and even another set of steps to the highest level where a bench seats provides a wonderful view of the rooftops and buildings in the area. The mood lighting, planting, electric canopy and water feature make the roof terrace a special place to sit and watch the activity below, take breakfast or enjoy a drink or two in the evening.

Lorenzo responded immediately to any questions before we got there and was on hand to meet us on arrival and see us off, arranged cars to and from the airport and looked after our bags on the day we left so we could make the most of the day before returning our keys.
The price, especially if split between two couples as our stay was, compares more than favourably with hotel prices but for us, Mlava Palace beats them hands down as a place to stay and enjoy this fabulous city from.
Stay here again? Would love to.

This is a Top Quality Apartment,it is impeccably clean and is very nicely decorated in a modern style that complements the charecter of the old building. With its stylish stone staircase leading up to both the first and second floors.
There is a very nice sun terrace leading from the 2nd bedroom and a further sundeck above that giving nice views of the square and local church etc.
The large bed we used in the main room is very comfy and as good as any you will find in top hotels, needed after a days walking and visiting the sites of Rome.
The sites are all walkable from here and the Vatican was only a 10 minute walk away.
Trastevere is lively and buzzing,a colourful neighbourhood that has an abundance of tavernas, bars and restaurants to choose from.Free wi-fi and the shower was amazing.
We loved this apartment and to come back at night and sit on the terrace with a glass of wine was heaven.....Bella La Malva Palace,Bella Trastevere.
Wish we were there just now......and as Arnie says....." I will be back"
Thankyou to Lorenzo the owner, very warm and friendly welcome on our arrival and more than willing to give advise etc. all correspondance was speedily answered.
Ciao.

This apartment is top notch. Set in a beautiful piazza you get the feel of the "real Rome". My sister and myself stayed here for 10 nights and didn't want to leave! The beds are super comfortable and the linens and pillows are high end. The two terraces are fabtastic and perfect for breakfast or an afternoon/evening drinks really romantic and relaxing with mood lighting and a waterfall feature. You have all you need with two bathrooms wardrobe space and a kitchen all yours and all private. All extras inc sky tv wifi iPod dock were all inc and free. guess it's really suited to couples but would suit group of friends just as well. If you don't do lots of steep spiral steps then it's not for you. However you do get used to them and will be running up them in no time! Lorenzo the owner gave us everything we needed plus tips on trips etc. We will definitely stay here when we return to Rome.
