At the top of a hill to the west of the Tiber, with views over St Peters. A short walk to the Vatican City, San Pietro Station, bars restaurants and shops. Bus stops nearby for getting into the centre; will take about 20/30 mins to walk in.
Staff very helpful and pleasant.
Plenty of car parking.
Good selection and plentiful breakfast. Can't comment on lunch and dinner.
Rooms clean and reasonably well appointed, but no hot drinks facilities. Can be noisy with church bells early morning.
Coffee available in reception throughout the day, but bar opening limited; prices very reasonable.
Would be very happy to stay there again.

Here is the thing about Hotel Casa Tra Noi Roma - it’s not your typical hotel. In fact, it’s more of a hotel for religious retreats, groups of priests or clergy visiting Rome or religious formation conferences and symposiums. In fact, everything about the hotel is designed to support Catholic events - resplendent with multiple chapels on the hotel campus. And, the hotel is great.

For the price, location and friendliness of the staff - it’s really tough to beat. In fact, I had one of the best pasta dishes at the hotel in their rather “Cafeteria” like dining room/restaurant. I was in Rome for a meeting with Catholic clergy from all over the world and everyone enjoyed their stay.

A word of caution - this is not a luxury hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is really clean and well apportioned, but the rooms are not luxurious and harken more to a hostel than a high end hotel. However, if you’re in Rome and need an inexpensive, but very clean and respectable place; look no further. It’s up on a little hill in a very quiet location so you can separate yourself from the crowds very easily!

The hotel may be a 3* hotel by British standards, but the rooms are exceptionally clean, the beds extremely comfortable and the shower pressure incredible! The staff were helpful and friendly, and when I was feeling too ill to leave at the agreed time, very kindly allowed me to stay on in my room for the rest of the day.
The hotel is in a very quiet area, about a 10-12 euro taxi ride away from St Peter's square. The reception staff order taxis for you and they arrive within 5-6 minutes each time.
My only concern would be for someone like me who has limited mobility: it was quite a walk from our room to the reception, which included a flight of stairs. Equally, when we wanted to eat nearby as we arrived too late for the hotel restaurant, it was a good walk to the nearest restaurant and again this involved a long flight of steps.

Booked here as was coming in late and had an early private Sistine Chapel tour the next morning so location convenient. Although only a few hundred metres to Roma San Pietro stazione be aware that for both the direct pathway up and the longer road route, unless you are fit and have only a backpack, the terrain is difficult. All winding uphill will large cobblestones and steps etc. - pay the 8 euro or so and get a taxi. The walk to the Sistine Chapel is quite long as it is around the wall to the other side of The Vatican so again, an 8-10 euro taxi is best unless time is not an issue then it's probably a 20-25 minute twists and turns walk. Reception will call a taxi for you and they arrive quickly. The rooms are clean but basic as expected in a decent 3 star hotel. Free wifi in rooms but no signal in basement restaurant where breakfast is served which is basically a Continental Breakfast but the coffee is good and the food fresh.
