Good budget option near Naples train station

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 17 Jun 2024
Had a 1 night stay prior to flying home from Naples.
Previous reviews were mixed but as only needed a 1 night stay took a chance.
However it exceeded expectations.
As were 4 of us we had 2 rooms - 1st in main hotel and 2nd in the attached guest house.
Both were big and clean.
service was fine.
Overall good value.
Date of stay: June 2024
Room Tip: Close to train station and so worth considering if you need a 1 or 2 night stay at budget price

I was travelling with my sister and we stayed in the triple room which has two bedrooms so perfect for the two of us. Both rooms were of a good size so at no time did we feel cramped and each room had it's own balcony. The rooms were clean and well presented.

The reception was covered 24/7 and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. On arrival we were warmly greeted and asked if we'd visited Naples before when we said that we hadn't we were given a map of the city and talked through the more interesting places to visit. That was really helpful as were only staying a short time it meant we were able to spend focus our sightseeing.

The hotel is 2 mins away from Piazza Garibaldi with some great restaurants offering good food. It's also really close to the mainline and Metro stations so accessing public transport was simple.

We had a lovely time here and as a film fan I loved the cinema theme. I would definitely stay again

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this quirky hotel close to the station in Napoli- it is a family run hotel and they were very welcoming and friendly
However the first impression is rather daunting and the two flights of stairs with luggage a challenge- unfortunately we did not feel safe in the area and were glad to return to our room - the aircon made a continuous knocking noise - the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were like sacks of potatoes- guess you get what you pay for these days - once again the family were very pleasant

It's a very nice hotel right by the historical city center, central train station and the Metro. Wonderful employees, good food everywhere around, friendly and safe. Easy acces to the Circumvesuviana and Pompeii.

Room tip: There is a big difference between the distance on a map of Naples and the real distance. Hordes of people everywhere. Lots of mosquitos.

We'd never been to Italy before and so this was our introduction. The plan was to stay for one night and move on to Rome. Just somewhere to sleep...... The hotel is an homage to all things Silver Screen. Once you climb the very Italian stair case to the entrance, you are instantly transported in a film buff's heaven! Every wall is covered in photos and scenes from films. There are items and props strewn on every surface and at every corner. Where ever you turn the place is utterly fascinating. Our room was a New York Theme again with items, props and paintings all taking you on an amazing journey. The room itself was perfectly fine. Clean and tidy - with the most interesting view form the window ever. We were in a court yard of sorts with hundreds of flats and balconies. It was something else from a film. Breakfast the following morning was full and varied with a very attentive waiter. Great fun for a short stay. Would absolutely go back again!!

Room tip: Great fun - Great breakfast - Really close to the main train station

Front desk afternoon/evening attendant did not speak English. We asked for a recommendation for a restaurant and had him write it down. Spelling was incorrect and didn't correlate to anything in the area that he sent us to. Evening attendant could be found smoking just outside the door by the desk.

Room - clean and basic. Very noisy from the air conditioner flap (something continually banged when the air conditioner was in use) to the street noise (louder when using the air conditioner) to the cleaning attendants banging doors.

Bathroom - small but serviceable. Shower was tight for a average sized adult man.

Breakfast - no hot foods; a couple of tortes, a marble (chocolate and vanilla) cake, croissants, yogurt, tomatoes, cheese, cereal. Coffee was good.
