My wife and I stayed at Casa Colonne for the month of March in 2016. We were delighted with the apartment in every way. Michele, Maddelena, and Andrea were outstanding hosts. While never being intrusive, we enjoyed the sense of being included in their family and in the life of Amalfi. The apartment has a lovely view of the sea and of the community. To cut expenses, we planned to cook most of our own meals. Everything we needed for doing in terms of pots and pans and utensils was in the kitchen. The tv was also a plus with access to youtube and in English. We also appreciated the location of Casa Colonne. It is on one of three plazas in the town center of Amalfi. We had ready access to the grocery store, a hardware store, a drug store, the fresh produce stand, two cheese shops, and four restaurants located on that plaza alone. Noise was never a problem. We were also glad that we chose to stay in the city of Amalfi. It is centrally located on the Amalfi Coast. The Cathedral is at the center of the community. Among the many helpful pamphlets that our hosts provided, was one on the hiking trails in the area. I like to hike and run and I found this area to be a paradise for my interests. My wife wanted to go to Italy for Italian cooking classes. Maddelena offered these cooking classes to us and we could not have been more pleased with them. In fact they might have been the highlight of our month in Amalfi. During our time on the Amalfi coast, we made day trips to other towns, but the city of Amalfi was always our favorite place to be.
