Excellent hotel in a great location for visiting all of Valencia’s main attractions. It’s well run with comfortable, clean rooms and all of the staff are friendly and helpful, speaking good English. We didn’t use the breakfast buffet as there are plenty of coffee shops on the same street offering cheaper breakfasts, albeit with less options. There’s no hotel bar but that’s not a problem due to its great location. Also very handy for the metro (direct line to the airport) and railway station. Highly recommend this hotel.

From the friendly staff to the fluffy towels this hotel should not be missed. Location is just perfect. In a nice area of town with some great wee local bars and a few great restaurants right on your doorstep which I plan to review separately. This hotel is right on the edge of the busiest tourist area and because of that it's a good thing. Beds and room were extremely comfortable. Toiletries lovely and towels luxurious. The shower worked a treat. We were on 6th floor facing the pedestrianised street. No traffic noise at all. Some noise at night but quiet after midnight with some passing noise at the weekend. It is a city centre hotel after all. We moved last few days down to hotel neptuno. It was quiet certainly but hotel Sorolla beat Neptuno hands down and to be honest we wished we'd stayed on in Sorolla. Beach if you want to go is easy to reach from the Sorolla as are all other attractions. We didn't have breakfast as hadn't booked it and to be honest I would have it at least one morning if we go back. I'm sure like everything else it is great. Nothing was a problem for the staff. That said all we ever asked for was directions. Everything else was perfect. Thank you for a lovely stay in a beautiful city.

We had previously visited Valencia in Easter 2005, had seen the clearing up after Las Fallas then with the tall wooden structure in the cathedral square being stripped of flowers under the cover of shading and vowed to return.

Booked up for the Las Fallas proper this year 16th to 22nd March in the 7th Floor room 703 which had a 20sq m roof terrace with great views down the pedestrian street
Carrer de Ribera that has an exit of the Xativa Metro 50m South and the Bull fighting Stadium south of that and the Placa de l'Ajuntament 80m to the North where the daily 2pm Mascleta fireworks are set off for 19 days from 1st to 19th March.

We had booked the 1st 4 days through Booking.com and the last 2 through the hotel website because of issues with flights and contacted reception who did did a great job in amalgamating an original interior double room booking for 4 days with the terrace room for 2 so we had no need to move during our stay. Very seamless and efficient.

Room 703 is great once you have come to terms with the big step up to the terrace with table, 2 chairs and a lounger which even in mid March catches the sun from mid day to 5.30pm and with sunny 21C compared to a frigid UK was welcome.

Room and bed very comfortable, do not agree with other recent posters comments about the bed. Breakfast although 11 euros each was a good start to the day with friendly and attentive staff, buffet eggs bacon & sausages and a good selection of cold platters. No lounge or other restaurant facilities but there is so much locally and the room was so welcoming that was not an issue.

1st day on the 16th we turned up at the Placa around 12.30pm downwind of the Mascleta firework enclosure and were amazed by the build up of the friendly and enthusiastic crowds near to the post office, fantastic atmosphere that culminated in the 2pm fireworks that last 5 minutes only and which, if downwind culminate in an overwhelming crescendo experience of noise and smoke with debris raining down. A good experience but not one you would experience in the UK, they say keep your mouth open if you are near to the Mascleta if you value your eardrums.

On the 17th we viewed close to the Placa but upwind and saw the mortars and opening fireworks, on the 18th we viewed 80m metres away from our hotel terrace, as did many locals and it was still as engaging. On the 18th more heard than viewed from a bar near the Cathedral probably 900m from the Placa but still felt the vibrations and the experience.

19th was the day of La Crema when all the sculptures around the city get burned at night but in Calle de Ribera around 8am the locals had a field day setting off their own thunder flash experience and for half an hour the street was a no go area for an improvised and unscheduled la desparata by the locals, who from our terrace, before I returned to bed I could see were dressed in the traditional half tunics. Not in any published schedule but part of the whole unique Spanish experience of Las Fallas.

Yes the sounds of 8am on the 19th penetrated our rooms double glazing as did the grand firework display at 1am on the old riverbed but the overwhelming experience was in the comeraderie and friendliness of the crowds and despite occasional punctuations we slept well and soundly on the 7th floor of the hotel.

We received a flight cancellation text from Ryanair on the 20th re our return flight on the 22nd and the hotel were great in cancelling at no cost our final day room charges as we flew out 36 hours earlier that planned due to French ATC strikes.

Could not fault the hotel, even got our bottle of wine for booking direct for the last day, and a fine bottle of 2014 red it was.

Tip for travelling from the airport on the metro is look for the Xativa exit to Carrer de Ribera as that is closest to the hotel and more importantly has a street level exit escalator whilst the others, you will find, have steep steps to hump your case up.

Room Tip: Room 703 with a 20m south east facing terrace that catches even March sun is great

My husband and I spent 4 nights at this hotel and the location is superb. The hotel is within a few minutes walk of both the main square of Valencia and The Bull Ring. You are literally ten minutes walk from all the main tourist sites. The hotel is absolutely spotless one of the cleanest of many hotels we have visited, big thumbs up to Housekeeping The reception staff are friendly and helpful and offered to help purchase tickets to the Oceonography (a must see). We didn't choose to have breakfast at the Hotel because there is so much choice available within 2-3 minute walk outside the Hotel. We were able to have breakfast for 2 for 10€ rather than 11€ each at the Hotel. A better option would be to Include breakfast within the room rate, maybe this is the case if you book direct with the Hotel. My only gripe would be that an area to relax with a bar within the Hotel is not available, this may be due to volume of bars nearby but it would be a nice option. I would highly recommend booking The Sorolla Centro as we had a great time in a beautiful City and would have given a 5 star rating but for the lack of lounge facilities.
