The apartment was lovely but it was not within walking distance of anything so you NEEDED A CAR it cost my friend and I 10 Euro’s ever time we wanted to go into torreveija which was the nearest town not best pleased
We were sad to leave this lovely apartment and Torrevieja! This was our first visit to Spain and we chose Maria's apartment because it offered everything we were looking for as a family of 3 with a teenage daughter (13).
We drove to Torrevieja and were able to find the location easily. The complex is lovely, modern and very well kept. We found it peaceful and quiet. The adjoining residential neighbourhoods are all very attractive and pleasant so when walking/driving there is always something nice to see.
Maria and her family are very welcoming; Maria was there to meet us and show us the apartment and had even left us a bottle of wine :D thank you! The apartment is immaculate and as beautifully presented on arrival as the photographs show. It is very spacious, modern and comfortable, and it has everything you need if you want to be self-catering.
The drying area at the back of the apartment is brilliant for drying washing & towels etc (washing machine is provided) and becomes a hot sun-trap for sunbathing when the sun is above it (there are recliners provided).
The swimming pool is just around the corner of the apartment and again, is spotlessly clean and well-kept. We spent many happy hours there. The front patio was nice and private for sitting out and relaxing in the evening.
We went in the middle of August and the apartment was the perfect temperature for me and the air conditioner was very good if you like things much cooler.
It's well located for amenities: the big Carrefour supermarket (with a cash dispenser) was easy to find and a short car drive away and is next to the Habaneras shopping centre. (There are other shops within a short driving distance but we didn't explore those.)
La Mata beach is lovely and was very popular but plenty of space to sunbathe or play in the sea. It only took about 15 minutes to walk there on a hot day - it's uphill on the return journey though so you might prefer to go by car! There are kiosks selling refreshments and a nearby supermarket too.
Parque Aromatico is a few minutes away (on foot) and is a lovely place for a stroll - it has some play equipment in there too and seating.
Aquopolis (a big water park) is also a short car drive away (maybe 10 minutes) and is very well laid out with different slides/wave pool etc. The queues were long for the exciting slides whenever we went past and on our visit, so I'd advise to allow plenty of time to make the most of the activities.
The Rose Lake is very tranquil and unusually beautiful - we paddled in the shallow part which extended quite far (footwear needed - the crystals are sharp) and the water was very warm. We never got deep enough to test if we'd float, but apparently it's possible!
There is so much more to Torrevieja than we had time to explore in our few days there, but we found this apartment to be the perfect place for us to discover some of the most immediate attractions and loved every minute! Very happy memories of Spain. Thank you Maria!
Great, well equipped and well looked after modern apartment. Me and my family enjoyed our brief visit. 2 adults, 3 kids (14,13 & 10).
The communal pools were clean and surrounding areas well tended.
With Torrevieja a short taxi ride away it was the perfect spot to enjoy the sun, and then did into the main town when needed.
Very well recommended.
The apartment looks very good and is well equipped. The swimming pool aria is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing day in the sun. The host was very welcoming and I´m sure me and my family will be visiting Vistabella again.
