This is clearly a Lunch favourite of the locals. Our philosophy has always been to try restaurants at least one and preferable two streets behind the main drag. This one repaid that spirit of adventure. There were only 2 table occupied when we entered, but the place was full within 20 minute of our arrival. The waiter was very helpful to us and a Russian couple at a neighbouring table. The set lunch was excellent value. Next time we would venture onto the main menu, the dishes going to other tables suggest this would be a safe bet.

We stopped here after the palace. It was on a quiet street. The waiter was lovely taking time to explain the set lunch menu which was 11.90 euros for 2 courses with wine and coffee. We had salad to start and several of us had the cod croquettes which were delicious, we had no space for dessert so all had coffee. I would highly recommend. The service was first class and I forgot to mention the wine was delicious.

Had a dinner here on a Thursday evening and we were the only ones in the restaurant for most of the evening. It is quiet small with few tables so the service was good. The waitress spoke no English but was full of life and entertaining. The menu was sufficient and provided a nice variety and the food was well prepared. Recommended.

I had dinner at the Los Arrieros with a group of colleagues in the middle of a business meeting in Madrid. Pretty nice experience. We were served a selection of 8 appetisers, ranging from prawns and mushrooms, to scorpionfish pudding, to local ham. Most of them were absolutely delicious. As for the main I went for pork loin, pretty unfortunate, tasteless and served with a couple of sauces (raspberry sauce + a green and non-better identified sauce) that simply didn't match at all with the meat. Very good the wines we were served, as well as the desserts (spirits could have been definitely better instead). All in all, forgetting the main, a very nice experience.

One of the tours we took in Madrid included lunch and it was at this restaurant. We could only order from the day's menu that included a first, a second, and a dessert.

There were about four choices for each course. The portions were good, food was tasty, and the service friendly. The drinks were not included and paid for separately.

What I liked the most about this restaurant is that it caters to locals, is not very touristy, and it's small and quiet. It's on a quiet side street near Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace.

If I come back to Madrid, I'd definitely try this restaurant again since the food is good, and it's not crowded with tourists.
