This is a relatively modern Cathedral, the building and decoration process being completed in the last 50 years. The Stained Glass windows are fine examples of modern art, the ceilings within the cathedral are vibrant in colour, exciting in style, uplifting as the soar across this huge space.

This is probably a must-see in Madrid! It is a really impressive building totally worth seeing and the entrance fee is just a one euro donation! It is 6 euros for seeing the museum and the views on top but I strongly recommend you go for that one too. The views are amazing! If you're not going to see the Royal Pallace (I didn't have time to) at least do yourself the favour of admiring from up here.
The cript is also worth seeing!

The exterior is in the character of a historic cathedral while the interior has incorporated modern elements particularly in the stained glass windows. I usually do not like modern windows but these were well done. There is a requested donation of 1E.

There is also a museum of the cathedral which charges more. We did not go in it. We were interested in the Cathedral.

Almudena Cathedral was a wonderful surprise. We all expected a very traditional church, but there's so much to see inside. There's wonderful, very modern artwork inside, and the exterior is beautiful. It's across the plaza from the Royal Palace, and both should absolutely be done together to get the full experience.

This magestic church is a wonderful display of art and religious artifacts. You may walk around at your leasure for a small donation to the church. On a Sunday you’re welcomed to join mass.
