This is a real working Market with many stalls. Meat, fish, fruit, veg, wine, flowers and other agricultural produce. Unlike the San Miguel Market this is not a venue aimed at the tourist, but has much to see, smell, taste, enjoy. A good number of stalls offering Tapas, beer, wine that cater for the market workers and those visitors who venture in. We had a great lunch at Chic Chicken.

If you want to experiment Madrid like a local, visit this one, order fresh cooked sea food or basically any kind of meat and have a drink with the locals. There is no sitting, eat, drink and socialize.

Nice experience.

PS: it doesn't look too sanitary :) if you have a delicate stomach better get some cheese and jamon.

Enjoy !

This is a proper market with a great selection of food and drink. Pulled up a chair at stall downstairs and had beer and black pudding for breakfast - only 3 Euros!

If you are in Madrid and like to cook you can sample fresh meats fish and produce at this enclosed open air type market. There are lots of vendors to choose from and they are eager to show you their wares. There are also tapas bars there and condiment stands. Interesting and fun 1-2 hours.
