If you want to stay close to the center of Madrid and all of the major sites/attractions, this is the best location and hotel for the money. The hotel looks questionable from the outside but once you are in, the rooms are nice, modern and clean, the windows are double-pane (which really helps since the hotel faces a busy square) and the staff is attentive (although somewhat limited in English).

We really enjoyed our stay and would have enjoyed it even more if not for a U.S. middle school group that came to stay at the hotel in the middle of our stay. Just think of being surrounded by 10-20 13-year olds :) but it was not hotel's fault that the kids were so loud and misbehaved.

I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be in the center of Madrid while not wanting to spend an arm and the leg for hotel.

A great little hostel in a fantastic location between Sol and the Plaza Mayor. We stayed in two different rooms at the beginning and end of our trip. The first room was at the back and although small was comfortable with a good shower. The second room was on the other side of the hotel and was quite noisy throughout the night. It was also a lot smaller than the previous room and there wasnt really anywhere to put your stuff. However the beds were amazingly comfy and for somewhere cheap, clean and minutes walk from all the action you really coundn't ask for anything more!

Location is very central and price is not high.
The rooms are clean but maybe a little run-down. The bathrooms are comfortable.
Although the rooms are small there is a lot of storage space which is convenient.
There is a balcony in most rooms - which is very nice for smokers/others.
The staff is very nice and attentive but they don't speak much English and are not always around.
The location might be problematic if you are noise-sensitive - central means that you may hear the people partying in the street in the middle of the night.
All in all if you are looking to pay a low price this would be a very good choice, otherwise I am sure there are better (but more expensive) options.

The location is impressive, but that said, it came with a lot of noise. Our room faced the back, and due to the warm weather and no A/C, we opened the window to cool down the room. We spent 58 Euro a night. For a few euro's more you could have a quieter nicer place.
