It is a rather impressively huge hotel, perfect for business travel or if you just want to make sure you have a hotel with specific amenities. Our rooms were in Block 4 (yes, block!), so it was quite a hike ... but the smooth floors all the way through made sure that our luggage rolled effortlessly. It's a very busy place, full of people on business, airline personnel, etc. coming and going all the time. Great place for conferences, lounges, or to people-watch, and everything seemed to run very efficiently. With some prodding, the front desk was able to arrange an extra-large taxi for us for 6 people to get us to a dinner reservation. The shuttle ran on schedule, even if it can get rather backed-up with so many people, so be ready to utilize a taxi (always hanging around out front) if needed. Professional, efficient, comfortable and extremely spacious. While not in the prettiest or most convenient part of town (so I would not use it for a vacation to enjoy Madrid), it is a very practical hotel for business purposes or if you just want to be near the airport. Parking garage available.

This is the place to go if you want to host a party for 1000 people. Otherwise, just OK. Its a high standards place, as you would expect, but out on a strip highway, about 20 minutes from downtown Madrid and nearly an equally long shuttle ride from some of the airport terminals. The decor is 'big' - huge halls and corridors and restaurants for the crowds. The executive lounge is fine- as you'd expect in a Marriott. I'm sure you can do a lot better in a Madrid Hotel.

Stayed last weekend as a couple on points (Marriott GOLD).
We enjoyed our stay but not everything was 'great'.

The Good:
- They allowed us to check in early after arriving on a very early flight. Very nice.
- Shuttle worked well and was running every half an hour. The female driver was very friendly!
- Most of the staff members were very service minded.
- Executive lounge offered decent food options throughout the day (breakfast was substantial for an executive lounge including eggs made to order). Beer/wine and soft drinks/coffee available all day too.
- The pool was quiet large and nicely heated and depending on the weather, the roof was open or closed. Life guard on duty all day as well.
- Lobby area and bar nicely renovated and contemporary looking.
- Executive lounge very comfortable, contemporary and spacious. Nice that they had a 'living' and 'working' area in there. The Ukrainian staff member (sorry forgot her name) was lovely and always up for a little talk. It is people like her that would make me go back to a hotel!
- Transport connections to the city centre were very decent for an airport hotel and it never took us more than 40min (bus + metro) to get there.
- Room was clean, as was the (basic) bathroom.

The Not-so-Good:
- Room was disappointing and extremely basic. We didn't like to spend much time in there (fortunately we didn't have to). Nothing luxurious about it (the average Courtyard or Holiday Inn Express has nicer rooms). The bed wasn't that comfortable (despite the raving reviews), we didn't like the memory foam topper. Room was too hot during the night (despite the AC on full blast). There was also a very unpleasant smell in the air. Very small windows too (no curtains, only rolling blinds). Lighting very bad (all 'bright and white')
- The 'hot food options' in the executive lounge at night were very basic (2 kinds of mostly processed deep fried stuff) and there were no alcoholic drinks available apart from wine/beer (and very well hidden cava). Disappointing because after seeing what was offered during the day/breakfast we had high expectations!
- We tried breakfast one morning in the main restaurant for a 'change of scenery' but despite the larger food choices we didn't enjoy it too much. The restaurant is 1 huge open 'canteen' with no windows at all (like a Las Vegas buffet). If you have access to the executive lounge I recommend to use breakfast there for nicer surroundings and better service.

To sum it all up, our stay was good without being exceptional, tempted to try the nearby Hilton next time we are in the area...

I was skeptical about staying here because it was far from the center of things but I am so glad we did. The rooms are clean, large, and have all the amenities you need. There were converters available so I could plug in my electronics. Directly across the street is a bus stop. It cost 2 euro. Took us straight to everything and allowed us to see the city. We paid extra to stay on the executive floor and that alone was worth it. Breakfast with everything you want and an omelette station. Can eat there all day and all the alcohol you can drink!

The Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel & Conference Center entire staff treated me with the courtesy and attention you expect from a fine hotel. The staff was all so friendly and helpful. No matter what I needed, your staff took care of me and seemed glad to do it. It was like being taken care of by your family -- family that you actually get along with. In addition to having staff that treated me so well, the room and the amenities were lovely. The breakfast & dinner buffet in the Concierge Lounge had tremendous variety, and was a lovely place to enjoy cake and tea in the evening. I will also let my travel agent know what superior service you provide your guests. A special 'Thank you' to Pablo Morales, Pablo Palaciuo, Marina, & Andrea, for your true professionalism and great conversation. Please share this note with your management.
