Definitely as "advertised" on tripadvisor. Plenty of good quality tapas bars offering food for just about every taste. Being a narrow street running (roughly) east-west it was in the shade all lunch time, which was very welcome as the temerature in the sun was pushing 30 degs.

Having said all this we found the food in San Sebastian and Pamplona to at least match that on offer here, which perhaps says more about the verall standard of food in this part of Spain rather than to detract from anything about Calle del Laurel.

What a street! Pintxos galore and excellent wines in the bars we visited. Loved Bar Angel. Nothing to dislike in this street.

Wow, Laurel Street was fun. We had a blast. I will admit that a street like this - where every bar serves their specialty Tapa with a great glass of red - is totally for me. I loved the variety of the Tapas and the quality of the wine all for a couple of Euros. No matter what the Tapa, we told ourselves that we would give it a try. Great time - great food. Go - just go.

I've done Calle Navas in Granada, Cava Baja in Madrid, wandered all around Sevilla having tapas, and this street blows them all away, in my opinion. You really can't go wrong, although there's certain places I'd advise more than others. You'll need to come back at least 4-5 times just to scratch the surface, but you'll enjoy yourself in the process (though this isn't to discount the places on Calle Portales or in other locations, which also offer fantastic food).

It would certainly be worthy, in my view, to pick your hotel based on its proximity to this little corner of heaven.

I have to say that after years in Spain traveling around this is an exceptional tapas experience especially great on a saturday midday onwards when all the locals were there. It was fun and friendly and the tapas excellent. We greatly appreciated some local advice to try the one tapas specialist stalls first and proved sound - fantastic tasty mushrooms that's all in one or pork brochetta in another.
