First thing to say is that this isn't on the Placa de la Font: it's actually on the Comte de Rius, just nearby. We wandered round and round the Placa, trying to find it, and having given up and walking back to go somewhere else, we found it. So, don't go looking in the Placa de la Font: it's not there.
Anyway, we've tried Lizarran before, so know the drill. The tapas etc are all laid out on a big counter, although drinks can be bought at your table or at the bar. There's seating in front of the tapas, which can make it difficult to serve yourself when people are sitting there, much polite barging in is required.
The tapas all great, much as you find in other branches and there's an emphasis on seafood here - not great for someone like me, who doesn't like anything fishy. They also serve sidra, which makes a good change from beer and happily reminded me of being in Asturias last August - bliss.
It gets very busy, but the atmosphere is good and the service remains brisk but friendly. You have to remember that they charge by the toothpicks on your plate, so no sneaking a few in your pocket and trying to reduce the bill. It's a good place to come in for a quick snack and if you're feeling a bit shy of trying out your Catalan or Spanish. Reliable old favourite indeed.
