The room: Not too big and not too small, enough for 2. Clean. Beds are very low, but i came with a baby so that was great for me. Bathroom was clean too, a bit small but its not a big deal.
Location: Excellent and this made me review at 4 points!
Owner: Great, very friendly and spoke English no problems so you can ask for anything. You don't see her much but she lives just across if you need anything which I think is great that she doesnt come and bother you when not needed.
Few points perhaps for improvement:
There is a kitchen to be shared by a few other rooms. One of the reasons I wanted to book an apartment is because with a toddler, I want to be able to reheat her food anytime I want or even if I have leftovers from my lunch etc, but this apartment doesnt provide a microwave (it does clearly says no cooking permitted which im fine with) but a bit dissappointed when I found out there was no microwave to heat up my baby's food as she eats food out of jar warm. The kettle provided was not ab electric one, so everytime i used it on the stove, the whole apartment can hear it when its ready! Owner did give me a small pot to boil water as an alternative but an electric kettle would be easier.
Overall, great experience, definitely a great location. Owner was great and very attentive to questions prior your arrival.
First of all the simpaty of Olga witch provides all information and helped with the stay.
The location is one of the best you could have in Barcelona. In the old center of town, with Bairro Gotico in the other side of street, Born in the back of the house, El Raval 10 minutes walking, and beach in the bottom of street.
Very nice room with all amenities, very quite (I dont know if was anymore guests in the house, I didn't ear any noise from other rooms) and very comfortable!
Coming from North America, things were a little different than we expected. Only our cell phones worked with the wifi. The computer and tablet didn't even see the wifi to connect, no matter what we tried. This is also more a hostel than a B&B. We were delighted with the owner, but only saw her upon arriving and once later. The rooms are clean and modern, but could use chairs since the beds were close to the floor. It would have been nice to sit with our feet up and a glass of wine on occasion.
The location is on a main street and close to everything except Park Guell, which we got to by subway and walking. It is nonetheless quiet.
It is not really conducive to preparing major meals. There are two burners and a shelf in the fridge, so a simple breakfast would be about the extent of it. That means take advantage of being surrounded by excellent restaurants!
The location was absolutely perfect, right between the Gothic Quarter and La Rambla. Subways and busses are close by for those sights such as Parc Guell and La Segrada Familia. But walking anywhere is a joy. The room was very clean and quiet, the air conditioning appreciated. Only problems were minor (couldn't turn the air conditioner off when it got a bit chilly and the tv didn't work (or we couldn't figure out the remote control). But who goes to Barcelona to watch tv? Host was very kind and check in/check out was easy. Absolutely recommend this as a budget-wise Barcelona place to crash.
