A protective stone layer, full of beauty.
You can follow a tour itinerary on the outside, really nice and busy.
Restoration work executed with respect and sobriety. Near the alcazar you get good panoramic views both from its upper part, as from below.

Segovia is an absolute gem, a stunningly beautiful old walled city. Thses walls are well worth exoloring ad every so often thry yield amazing views of the river and plains below Segovia and the mountains in the distance.
They also allow you to literally get lost in the old town as no matter how far you wander you'll eventually hit a wall and know how to get back!

Segovia is one of my favourite cities in Spain. You need to walk around these walls to not only get the great views but to get the feel of a fortified city.

To access the walls, one needs a key code, which can be obtained from the small museum near San Andres’ Gate. This is a small charge for the museum (including the walls) but it’s usually free on Thursdays. Do, however, check the museum opening times, because they’re not very generous. And the museum itself is not up to much.

The section of the wall one can access is pretty small, but the views over the valley below – towards the medieval Jewish cemetery – are very good, so it’s worth a small investment of one’s time.
