We stayed here for 3 nights and found it to be very relaxing in a stunning location. The staff were exceptional, especially Miguel in The Level. He gave us excellent advice and was always smiling & helpful. I can thoroughly recommend the Level formula which gives you that little bit extra feeling.
The one suggestion I have for this hotel is to improve the wifi reach, especially in the rooms, as it is poor. Otherwise, a top place to stay far from the touristy hustle and bustle.

This is a beautiful 'adults only' hotel built in the style of a Canarian village and situated in the farthest north-west corner of Tenerife (ie far away from the noisier but sunnier south). With a Ballesteros-designed golf course adjacent to the hotel, this is where you come for a quiet, relaxing break. The layout is unusually set on many levels with pools, gardens, spa, bars and restaurants on most of them. The rooms are elegant and huge, even a standard room - bathrooms with baths and separate showers, walk-in wardrobe, lounge area, large twin beds, a private balcony and 2 tvs. Sofas and beds were very comfortable, and despite being quite full, the hotel was very quiet and you could always find an empty area to sit in or walk round. A coastal walk is just 15 minutes walk from the hotel and is very picturesque. Most of the staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and always happy to chat. Just occasionally, a few were sullen but that may have been because we were told breakfast was until 10.30, only to find a notice subsequently stating that it was only until 10.00. The one aspect of our stay that was disappointing was the food - especially in the evening. It is buffet style and perfectly adequate but we felt for a pricey 5* hotel it was unimaginative, repetitive and bland. Certainly there was a range of hot and cold dishes but many appeared to be very simple food, poured into different dishes and with little taste. The saving grace was having your choice of meat/fish cooked in front of you by the ever-smiling Alessandro. Overall, this is a hotel we would return to but possibly on a bed & breakfast basis. It is certainly beautiful, quiet, relaxing and with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Room tip: All rooms are large and quiet but rooms on the higher levels will have sea view. Ours was on the ground floor and had a garden view.

Very good hotel on golf course away from the crowds is the best way I can describe this. I didn't play golf but the course looked really good.
Stayed here for a few days after holiday on La Gomera on half board basis booked direct on Melia website. Had one of the best hotel rooms I have experienced with golf course and sea view on third floor.Excellent bathroom and walk in wardrobe and bedroom with 2 TV's. and balcony seating area. The hotel has a most interesting layout and although it is not large but takes a little time to find your way around!
The hotel experience cannot be faulted in that the facilities are excellent, the whole place is spotless and the staff are amazing. The layout is such that you can always find a quiet place and the pools were never crowed when we were there. The pool bar served good food at lunch time on a limited menu.
Breakfast is a buffet with a good choice and a chef cooking eggs etc.and there was a good range of hot and cold food. Excellent
The evening was also a buffet although there was an option of service restaurant at extra cost. I regret to say I found the evening buffet poor in terms of choice and quality and lasted 2 nights before finding an alternative at local restaurants. I would have expected better from a 5 star hotel.
Without doubt I would have scored this hotel excellent and it not been for the evening buffet and I will definitely return on a B&B basis again as the hotel overall was exceptional. It is a little out of the way but worth the effort.

Room tip: Take a room with golf or sea view which is well worth the extra.

My husband and I arrived around 7.15pm. We were met by Miguel on the Level Reception. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed from the start. We had endured a car journey by hire car and it was a little hairy, due to trying to follow a paper map, then switching to satnav which took us down one very steep single tracked road, which coupled with driving round and round other mountain roads had made our nerves fray!
We were welcomed with a glass of ice cold cava. Miguel explained to us about the Level service. This was worth the money. I don't know how people can say it isn't. You can park your car for free in the basement of the hotel. You can have snacks from 11am until 11pm. This also includes cava and beer, limitless. There was healthy snacks plus doughnuts& mini croissants. Then between 5.00 and 6.30pm canapés were served with brand named alcohol, example of canapé would be Filo prawns, salmon and dill on small mini breads etc.
When you are on half board, this offering in between breakfast and dinner is very welcome. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Being Level guests, you could breakfast in The Salazar restaurant. This is waitress/ waiter served and you can have crispy bacon, omelette cooked to order, eggs cooked to order, eggs benedict, all sorts of toast, pastries, fresh orange juice, tea, coffees. All very good. You can if prefer have buffet breakfast downstairs, but if you can have served food that is cooked to your liking then why go buffet ?
The evening buffet is spectacular. Choice of freshly cooked meats, i.e. steak, lamb, duck breast, all tender. On the cold buffet, a varied selection of meats, fresh langoustines, prawns, bread etc. The staff in the restaurants were excellent particularly,Arelli, Ellie, Maya, but all of them worked very hard. By the pool, Jose was a credit to the hotel, you just had to ring a bell by the bed, where you sunbathed (separate quieter area if you are a Level guest, by the way) and Jose would be with you to take your order for drinks, again as a Level guest, all included soft drinks , cava and beer while you sunbathe! Also should you have forgotten your sun tan cream, they will supply that ! What can I say - excellent hotel, excellent staff and we also had a huge room with a very nice terrace. Room 407.
The only thing we would have changed was the weather as we went for 10 days and we had some good days especially the last two. They were hot clear blue sky days, but mostly it was cloudy and windy. We drove to the south twice, to reap the benefit of the sunny climate there. We were told that the north and south of Tenerife are really 2 different islands. Bare that in mind. We also would not take a hire car from the airport to get to the hotel. We wished we had booked a driver from the hotel to pick us up, as unless you travel all the way on the TF1 and the TF5 on the Autopista, then expect a nervy drive. The route on the Autopista will take you 1.5 hours driving at the speed limit. You can then hire a car when you get to the hotel should you wish to drive locally.
Just to add, on a Wednesday night, Anna and Rueben, who are a singer and keyboard player were great. Anna has a superb voice and Rueben was a good keyboard player. They should be on more often. They played some jazz and soul classics.
All in all a very relaxing holiday. Would highly recommend.

We stayed in the junior sea view suite room 407 it was positioned on its own next to the level private sun bathing area and the lower larger pool with views across the golf course and the sea.

The breakfast for level guests was ala carte and very quiet apart from some loud people once. Have what you want basically and very good quality.

In 10days there was only one night when the food seemed overly recycled but the remaining 90 per cent was very good with fresh meat and fish cooked for you, large prawns wee available most nights.

Miguel was great as a host and seemed to care he showed us the jacuzzi room as an option but it was smaller and too close to the main hotel so we felt we had the bets suite.

The level option gives you freixnet cava all day with cocktails between 5 and 6 I think plus coffee and snax. Drinks by the pool are free all day so half board is almost all inclusive.

I suggest you do not drive the roads are winding and steep and I have smashed up a hire car in the past on the roads due to a lorry on the wrong side of the road. So get a cab each way and hire a car from the hotel its cheaper and you wont feel sick or terrified by the journey our sat nav pretty much sent us down a cliff on a broken road near the hotel as the fastest route I thought I was going to crash again as vehicles kept coming up the narrow bends.

The weather wasnt brilliant with three days if sun and 7 of thick cloud when it was sunny elsewhere. We went to Los Christianos saw a car crash and a lady with gaz tattooed on her neck and another one with-a coke bottle tattooed on her leg. Plus the shopping centre was derelict with squatters everywhere and crowds of people dressed as football players who clearly hadn’t exercised for decades. Anyway each to their own you might need earplugs on the flight and I had the treat of sitting next to a man with Horrendous body odour wearing a vest fir 4 and a half hours

Its worth the upgrade cost as the hotel is remote and the cost is much less than the South probably because the winter weather.

The service staff and colonial architecture is well worth experiencing, Los Christianos is not.
