The hotel was only a ten minute drive from the airport and perfectly located next to Arrecife Beach with a great view of the beach and town. The service was 5 star - we were thankful for an early check-in, and throughout the stay the staff were friendly and professional. The suite was spacious, clean and included all expected amenities. The pool bar and sun terrace on the second floor offered delicious food and the perfect place to sunbathe without having to leave the hotel. The pub cafe on the seventeenth floor offered superb views of Arrecife. The restaurant offered a great selection of buffet food, as well as preparing meat and fish to order which was cooked in front of us. The only negative points were: The 'double bed' was two beds pushed together which we did not appreciate. The buffet breakfast and dinner food items were only labelled by name so as a vegetarian I had trouble knowing what I could and could not eat. The spa was dated and did not feel 5 star.

Room tip: Corner Suite overlooking the sea and beach are perfect!

Hi, me and my boyfriend have used the spa of this hotel as we were looking for a place to relax in Arrecife.
The price is good, 15€ for the use of the dynamics shower, area relax, sauna, turc bath, jacuzzi and pool.
While we were there we saw a big COCKROACH running around near the jacuzzi, and we understand that it can happen, specially in a warm place like Lanzarote, but I have to be honest, it totally killed my mood.
Then I have to say that the whole place is definatelly TOO DARK; maybe the purpose of that is the relax, but for me and my boyfriend,the effect was that the place looked CREEPY, especially the pool and the showers. there's a big difference between a nice SOFT LIGHT and the DARKNESS! Plus, most of the candles were off and it's not nice, especially for a Gran Hotel.
The Changing room is small and the lockers looks really cheap.
The Staff is really nice and kind, nothing to say about them.
So in the end, for me, the experience wasn't really relaxing....

We arrived and were a little early for an immediate check in but that gave us a chance to get our bearings in the lovely sunshine. When we returned we found ourselves in a fantastic suite on the 15th floor. Views to die for and wonderfully comfortable bed. Complimentary wifi was really good.The food was very good and we made the most of their fine dining restaurant on the 17th floor. The tasting menu is divine and beautifully served. The meals in the 2nd floor restaurant are buffet style but the choices are very good and they have different theme nights for food. The Asian evening was very nice indeed. In the fine dining restaurant we had a lovely bottle of wine on our first night in here and on the second occasion chose a different wine. On our final night, because I had mentioned to Salvador earlier, he made a special effort to get in some of the wine I had enjoyed in the first occasion. Many thanks. The pool restaurant for lunch is terrific and we both utilised the Spa with excellent massages. The overall impression is one of calm and peace. We will be definitely return.

This is NOT a five star hotel, prehaps a four accommodation. I have sneaky suspicion that most 5* hotels in lanzorate are the same. It's a very sleepy island. Wouldn't recommend this hotel in the slightest and prehaps not even the area.
Upon checking in, we were advised that they had problems with their rooms, and that we were to check at another hotel in a completely different part of town for one night. As compensation, they upgraded us to half board, instead of bread and breakfast and reimbursed us for our taxi rides to and from the other hotel. We were generally very calm about the whole situation, but I feel if we were the types of people to make a point than more would have been done to appease us. The rooms are general are nice, but lack lighting and comfy pillows. A twin room, still has a two beds shoved together. Simple things like asking for an iron were not permitted in the rooms without an extra cost? The food for the buffet restaurants were sorely disappointing. To top off we had to pay for drinks whilst dining..

Thank you for your review on Tripadvisor. We are very sorry that your one night stay could not live up your expectations. We always strive for great customer satisfaction.

It is a shame that you felt disappointed with the room; allow us to say that our hotel was built under the specifications at the time and that it was afterwards refurbished in 2004, becoming a different Design Hotel. The furnishings in the bathrooms and bedrooms are of the highest standard. Moreover, I regret that our gastronomy did not entirely convince you, as it is indeed one of Seaside’s strengths. With our lavish buffets and a la carte option, besides our Altamar and Star City restaurants, we do our best to not only cater for all tastes, but to offer the finest quality in this regard.

All staff gave him all necessary assistance to make you feel at home. We apologize for this but you stayed in a hotel in the same category. The destination is in a very high season and the reason that you had to stay at another hotel the first night is because the previous customer had stayed in his room very ill and had to prolong a night.

It is always disappointing to learn of a less than perfect stay. Again, we apologize for any inconveniences caused.

We have just returned from at week at the Grand Hotel. It was fantastic. We stayed in a suite on the 7th floor, great views the room was lovely and big. Great food every night. The staff are all very attentive, but a special mention to Daniel Customer Relations, who was so helpful and he always made sure everything was ok for us both. I hope he has a very long career at the hotel he deserves it.
