Had the paella today, which was very nice, but most often we get fish here which is fresh and well prepared. It was recommended by our landlord and i happily pass on the recommendation.

We have been there on the 06.01 which is the epiphany resulting in a completely packed city due to some sort of parade.

However, the promenade of las canteras was fairly empty and since i have been multiple times to bella lucia before i decided to introduce it to my friend with whom we have been visiting GC together.

I can't share everything about the starters since i don't remember every detail. I had the gambas in garlic oil which were fantastic.

For the main courses my friend and i had the fish of the day (cherne - stonebass) made in the traditional way of "a la espalda" with a lot of garlic. They presented the fish prior to us ordering and basically cut it in half for 2 dishes. The ladies had the typical sea food paella.

With the fish we were served fresh potatoes with the canarian red (mojo?) sauce. Anyway, they were very good. The fish itself was fantastic for my taste. My friend had some issues due to it being too neutral for him, however, he said the cook accidentally cut the gall bladder while cleaning the fish resulting in some very very bitter taste on some part of the fish. When we tried to explain that to the waiters, they didn't understand and/or claimed that it has been removed.

The paella however was said to be delicious.

We had ordered white wine to compliment for the fish and seafood paella. Unfortunately neither water nor wine has been refilled by the staff and we had to do it ourselves. We didn't take any dessert since we were really sated after the starters and mains.

To sum it up:

+ Food for reasonable prices
+ Fish and gambas were fantastic
+ Paella was said to be very good

- Service, the waiters - despite located directly at the promenade, didnt speak a word of English. Luckily, we had some basic spanish we could use to communicate
- They didn't "believe" that the fish was bitter due to cutting the gall bladder

Overall i'd recommend the "Bella lucia" due to good seafood and fair prices. Don't expect to have the best service though.

We enjoyed the garlic shrimps (gambas al ajillo) and paellas (valenciana y de mariscos). However the highlight of the meal was a fish that we ordered due to the waiters recommendation. The desserts were nothing to write home about, but we liked the meringue the most. If you don't speak Spanish you might find it difficult to order since the waiter is not a fluent English speaker and he won't be able to recommend you the daily catch. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

Was there two times. First one was during business trip and the second on the holidays. This is the place where you'll want to come back. Sea soup is 10/10 and Habelas Hailas is the best licore what I tasted :) It's great atmosphere with the sounds of ocean waves outside.
