Airbnb is cheaper!
You get your key from Mr Grumpy and go up the unlit (it’s even dark in the daytime) staircase and wonder where they got their dark yellow paint for the doors, must have bought 500 litres in the 70’s and are still using it, open the door to our stinking of smoke luxury 3bed apartment with private bathroom, well a three bedded room with a bathroom only separated by a shower curtain from the room. €55 for one night and they can’t put a door on the bathroom? The ‘worn through’ bed bases looked like they were 50 years old too and the mattresses not much less, springs could be felt through the sheet while lying on them, no loo roll, no glasses, no kettle, no bedside tables, nothing except beds Sheets and blankets, broken chairs and small table, tiny lock on the tiny insecure balcony, no chairs or table. Bathroom was clean, but zero privacy. There are no facilities in the hostel, no bar etc. So why not just get Airbnb, yes I know many won’t do one night and this is ok if you’re desperate. Otherwise you can get Airbnb for say 3 nights from €28 a night, wish I’d paid for 3 nights and just stayed one in a nice flat!

Refugee camp standard but cheap.i could not get Wi Fi on the 2nd floor .noise was annoying .door slams etc.
Location is not too bad 30min walk to the dunes .there is a supermarket just behind the hostel but quite expensive .food around is cheap but not the best.

This is the CHEAPEST place to stay in Maspalomas and is beats spending the night in the car or in the cells.

Expect the very worst and you will be pleasantly surpised. The sheets are clean, the room door closes and locks, and you don´t have to share with anyone (as in a hostal for the sa,me money).

The guys on reception are nice enough and quite friendly really. Be nice to them and they are nice back.

The neighbourhood is an immigrant enthnic minority area, but that adds colour and also a variety of places to have breakfast or enjoy a decent kebab.

The Yumbo Centrum is about 12 minutes walk, taking the shortcut beside the Hotel Neptuno and entering through one of the back alleys.

I´d definitely go back, the value for money simply makes it unbeatable. But, try if you can, to get invited back to someone else´s, they´re bound to be staying in superior lodgings! ;-)

I´ve attached a few photos of the grimmest scenes, but all things considered, it wasn´t too bad.

Go for it!

Cheap, I got it for 28 euros for the night! I stayed here for the first night of my trip to Gran Canaria as my own hotel was charging 150 for that night.
Check in was ok, 2 guys, one very rude, other was friendly. The room is as basic as you can get. The sheets were torn and I was given 2 towels, one was dirty.
The bathroom was clean but didnt like the idea of showering and others coming in/out of the room.
Didnt get a great sleep. The bed was cumfy but loud music from outside. Also once the main door is locked at night, guests have to press a buzzer which is LOUD. I would stay for one night again next time I go to Gran Canaria and get a late flight.

Room Tip: Maybe a higher room might be quieter

Of course, this is not a four-star hotel, but it is good enough to stay not only for one night. The downside is the poor soundproofing. Internet is available only in the reception; however, in Gran Canaria such a level of Internet connection is common also in more expensive accommodations.
