Did a day trip to this island an extinct (?) volcano, apparently the only Spanish island declared Heritage of the Mankind. If you like beautiful views and mountainous country,I recommend this place. We did it by coach, but according to friends it was even better (and more frightening ) by jeep, going up and down tracks that the coach could not go. Take warm, weather proof coat, you end up in the clouds and make sure you have your camera handy.
The tour included lunch (not exceptional) with wine, and a very interesting demonstration of the local system of communication by whistling to each other!
If you don't like roads with a "drop"on one side though think hard before doing the drive! (We had one or two passengers changing window seats.
