A "must do" trip - used by locals as well as tourists. 8 euros one-way. We walked up to Soller along the GR221 and rode down again in the tram to the port.

I did not think I was in such a beautiful place, that it would inspire such peace. a magical place where its residents make you feel welcome.

We used the train from Palma to go to Soller. It takes about an hour to get there, the views from the train are spectacular - it’s even got a halt so people can get off briefly to take photos! Soller itself is worth a visit and the beach area is lovely. There wasn’t a train (due to siesta probably) back in the middle of the afternoon so we returned on the bus, which worked out very well.

30 min ride from soller town to the port
Lovely little tram ride, a little disorganised as not clear where to board etc you end up waiting in the street
However tram is lovely _ it gets a bit busy as tren from Palma is about twice the size and this connection is smaller

The views once out of Palma are stunning
You get to see absolutely breath taking scenery , mountains, cliffs, wildlife, olive trees etc completely amazing for the nature lovers

I only gave 4 stars for a few reasons
Its a little expensive and rather awkward, you have to decide on advance when to return, which when you don't know the region it finishes in Soller means potentially rushing or waiting for hpurs

Even if train is empty you cant change which is odd
When you get to Soller to change to the tram, everyone was confused as to where to go to change over, a few signs or help would be good
Also on the return at Palma every one pushes on the train without waiting for existing passengers to get off safely so its a bit chaotic

However apart from odd rules and lack of directions the actual train and tram ride are exceptional
