Don't get me wrong, this is a great hotel and I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Zaragoza. However you do wonder what it was like when it opened for Expo 2008...… It is a fabulous design, definitely the longest, thinnest hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. I like minimalist with a bit of a flourish ('W' Hotels are my favourite), but there is some fraying around the edges and not just the carpets. I don't like bathroom sealant that is going slightly mouldy or a TV with appalling picture/sound quality across most of the channels. Being charged an extra €12/day to park in an empty underground car park doesn't do it for me either.
But the quality of the food and drink served during the conference I was attending was 5*. I shudder to think what their kitchen would think if they ever see the conference 'food' served at UK hotels. I also like the 100% blackout curtains in my bedroom and the bed itself along with the massive artwork in reception and the furnishings design.
10 years old, I wonder when the refurbishment is planned?More
