The Casa del Poeta is as close to perfect as any hotel we've stayed in during several decades of travelling the globe. Tucked away anonymously in a small alley behind massive doors , you step into a sublime courtyard with stunning architecture , open at three levels up to a translucent skylight. Each evening at the cocktail hour , guests are serenaded by a classical Spanish guitarist , with subtle uplifter lights picking out the curves and columns around the enclosed courtyard.
The hotel serves a delightful breakfast but does not offer lunch or dinner....this is of no matter as the hotel is centrally located not far rom the cathedral and is surrounded on all sides by a multitude of tapas bars and restaurants....one is spoilt for choice , and excellent quality.
The hotel room we were given was spacious and well appointed , fully equipped and spotlessly clean. The hotel staff were kind and helpful and clearly were proud to be part of an elite hospitality team....nothing was too much trouble for them. We were also privileged to be shown by the owner around a small private chapel to the rear of the hotel premises....the hospitality was akin to being shown around his home.
Seville is a wonderful city to visit and there can be no better place to stay....you will certainly not be disappointed

As a business and leisure traveler I have high standards for hotels. Casa del Poeta was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Situated on a small dead end off of a pedestrian way - a bit difficult to find - we were asked to call when we arrived at the closest taxi drop off. A member of the hotel staff met us and carried our luggage the two short blocks to the hotel. No name plaque - but identified by the lanterns on either side of the door. Absolutely beautifully appointed lobby/atrium. My husband and I felt pampered from the start when they registered us at a table in the atrium with complementary wine, coffee, and bite sized pastries and chips. Elevator to our room on the second/top floor with a table and chairs outside of our room overlooking the atrium where there is a classical guitar concert each evening at 7:30. Beautiful rooms with tea/coffee service. Great bathroom with the best shower ever ( I took a photo of the shower and fixtures as a possible model for when we redo our bathroom at home. Towel warmer, non-slip tile in shower (comforting for those of us who are older). Most comfortable bed with soft/smooth sheets and pillowcases Made it difficult to get out of bed in the mornings. Wonderful breakfast - again pampered. Linen tablecloths, soft cloth napkins. 3 waiters attending. Fresh fruit, juice and coffee served to start. Elegant buffet with scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, sausage; spanish ham and sausage, cheese; salmon; cereals/yogurts/ breads/toasts, and other pasteries. They don't serve dinner, however restaurants steps from the door are plentiful. Nestled in the old town section of the city - about a five minute walk from the Cathedral Casa del Poeta was a wonderful, restful mini vacation. Felt pampered from start to finish. Felt great to be there. So pleasing to the senses. See Photos

What a fantastic hotel with real character but modern facilities. It isn't the easiest place to find as there is no signage on the street but the hotel had emailed with directions. The service is wonderful- we were greeted with a complimentary drink during check in and the staff could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. Great breakfast too. The roof terrace is lovely for a coffee or evening drink and I wished we'd have had time to enjoy the guitarist playing in the courtyard each evening at 7.45pm. We'd definitely book to stay here again.

We had the most comfortable and indulgent 4 nights in this lovely hotel. Small is indeed beautiful in this case and the service was excellent with very caring and efficient staff. Location is in the historic Barrio Santa Cruz with close proximity to Alcazar, cathedral and good tapas. Seville was very busy at this time with many tourists but the Casa del Poeta was a haven of peace and tranquility and very welcome after a long day sightseeing. Breakfast was excellent and taken in the courtyard garden in such a beautiful setting was quite special. Thank you to the staff for remembering my birthday too!,

We stayed here for three nights. The hotel is tucked away in the pedestrianised area of the Bario Santa Cruz, so it is very central, but also very quiet and peaceful. The hotel is lovely inside with the Moorish architecture. We enjoyed having a glass of wine on the roof terrace and also sitting in the courtyard listening to the guitarist in the evening. We stayed in standard rooms and they were well appointed and immaculately clean. The breakfast is good. What makes this hotel worth the price is the staff. They were attentive and ultra helpful, with the breakfast staff helping to make my Mother's 81st Birthday memorable! Tip: ask for recommendations about what to do and see. The receptionist organised our ticket to the Flamenco at the Museo del Baile; well worth it and we would never have found it on our own. It is quite expensive to stay here, but I would thoroughly recommend.
