We found the park to be a welcome break from palaces and cathedrals. The Parque de Maria Luisa is well laid out with walks, gardens, fountains and bridges.
As we have come to expect of public areas such as this, deferred maintenance is on abundant display. Graffiti artists seem to have found many of the available spaces as well.
Horse drawn carriages and pedal vehicles provide alternative means for navigating the park.
