The Palacio de la Condesa is a beautiful building and definitely a must-see while in Seville. The structure of the palace is a typical of Sevillian stately homes: an arrangement of airy rooms and hall-Medusa, Ganymede, Dionysus, Octagonal rooms. All rooms are richly decorated, Roman <Greek and Persian statues, Louis XVI furniture, vases and pots.please pay to go upstairs..NO photography on the top floor.

Lebrija Palace was formerly a private house owned by a Condesa and is special because not only is the house lovely (moorish style) it is also special because the Condessa who owned it was an avid collector of Roman mosaics and medieval tiles which she displayed very lavishly in the house. Pretty cool.

This is a little hard to find (we are not great with maps) and we paid for the full guided tour. What was truly worth it actually is the ground floor self-directed tour. You get to see the beautiful staircase, lots of mosaics, the pompei style floors, the moorish architecture. A must see and a little outside of the huge crowds. See this first and the next day go to the Real Alcazar.

The Palacio de la Condesa is a beautiful building and definitely as must see while in Seville. The 16th century palace was completely made over in the early 1900s with an extraordinary "Roman" theme running throughout. The Condesa did her best to "buy" priceless Roman relics from the ruins at nearby Italica and other sites to finish the building. There are beautiful Roman mosaic tile floors throughout the structure and many other items adorning the walls and on display. It results in a rather odd combination of traditional Andalusian influence and Roman displays. The main floor is open to self-guided tours (there are brief information panels in each room) for 6E and you can get a guided tour of the second floor apartments for an additional 2E.

We loved our visit to this Palacio. It dates to the 16th century but was remodeled in the 19th C. The owner at that time (Countess of Lebrija) amassed a very varied collection, some of which came from the Roman ruins near Seville. Do not expect a coherent style here - the house, furnishings and decorations are from different eras and of widely varying styles, yet somehow it all blends into something wonderful. The best parts (for me) were the amazing, huge and beautiful Roman floor mosaics, Roman floor tiles and ceramic wall tiles from 16th and 17th centuries. We took the guided tour of the 2nd floor and personally, I did not care for its more modern look. If I visited here again I would definitely skip the upper floor which is an extra charge and not really worth the expense.
