We passed by the house not knowing anything about the artist. A man encouraged us to go in and take a look. What a wonderful surprise! The house is charming and has been lovingly preserved offering a glimpse into Moreau’s life and work. Rooms look just like they must have looked when Moreau lived there. The views from the house of El Alhambra are breathtaking and the artist’s works displayed are beautiful and moving. One can only imagine what a wonderful life he must have enjoyed in that beautiful house in magical Granada. It is so worth a stop! Go and take in the beauty of the house, the artist’s work and the view. You will be charmed as we were.

This house - or carmen - is absolutely fabulous, well-maintained, with stunning views, courtyards, fountains, intriguing interiors and art works. There is just so much to love, including the adorable black cats; were there two, or three?? And it's free admission! So glad we visited here, it was very special.

Hidden away on the street leading to Plaza San Nicolas is the wonderful garden and home of Max Moreau. It is a museum of his work, featuring his preserved studio, garden, lounge room and gallery. Just stunning views to Alhambra out the back too. Must see.

We made this 'pitstop' part of a visit we planned to various carmens and ended up spending more time here than expected. It is a beautifully maintained residence that once belonged to the Belgian artist, musician and author Max Léon Moreau (1902-1992) and his wife Felice Leclerq. There is a small separate gallery of his works, and more works inside the building that was their home. The view of the Alhambra from their minimalist garden is beautiful. We knew nothing much about him, and the visit gave us an insight into the modern arts in Granada. It was a pleasure to have discovered this spot and a lovely (free) way to spend half an hour.
