Albaicín If you want to feel the aroma from the flowering orangetrees go to Granada in springtime. If you want to stay in wonderful surroundings, stay in Albaicin, the medieval part of town and at Palacio de Santa Inés, a beautiful place with rooms with views of Alhambra, nice staff who knows what a servicemind is.

Great location less than a 5 minute walk from Plaza Nueva, and on the edge of the Albaicín . We booked a top floor room with a view of the Alhambra - it actually turned out to be a comfortable three room suite with great views from all of the windows. Great breakfast, and afternoon tea in the dining room. Very helpful staff that helped with a dinner reservation and a taxi to the train station. Highly recommended, with one caveat: one half of the hotel does not have elevator service, and it was a challenge to negotiate several stairways with luggage - if you have mobility concerns, confirm your actual room assignment the hotel so that they can accommodate your needs.

Room Tip: Great views from higher floors, if you can manage the stairs.

This charming boutique hotel was in a perfect position in the historic centre of Granada. Our well appointed room overlooked the rooftops to the Alhambra and also the central atrium. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. It was an easy walk to explore this very interesting city. We loved it.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the Alhambra is wonderful.

On whistle-stop tour of Andalusia we stopped one night in Granada and would have stayed much longer. Hotel is superbly placed - close walking distance to bustling centre but set back so the rooms were quiet. Great restaurant (La Fontana) at the entrance to the hotel. Only down points are that you can't drive to the hotel - park elsewhere and take taxi - and it's an uphill trek to the Alhambra, bt you can take a bus or taxi.

The hotel has a fantastic location at the foot of the Alhambra and in a beautiful historic district; the downside is that most people with a car will have to park in a public car park some distance away and return by taxi. The hotel reimburses the latter but the car park can cost up to €20 a day. We were lucky and found a local free spot.
The hotel is full of character with each room being individual with plenty of space. The beds are very comfortable with nice linen. The rooms were generally spotless but there was some dust not fully cleaned up in one of the two rooms we had. But towels and sheets are changed every day. Another minor gripe, as with so many hotels, is that there is a lack of shelf space around the bathroom washbasins.
Although the hotel is in a potentially noisy area, the soundproofing is excellent and the A/C very effective.
Reception was exceptionally friendly and helpful and responded very well to some special needs as when three of us went down with food poisoning after eating at one of the local restaurants (mostly very good by the way). The staff also went the extra mile in helping us with heavy luggage.
The buffet breakfast is fine if not exceptional and reasonable value at €10.
I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms in the central part of the building have no lift access but another section does.
