Why Not is a small quiet gay run bar in an old typical Spanish style white village. You would never think you were in the center of Torremolinos as the surroundings and atmosphere are so peaceful with candle light on the terraces and around the fountain in the center.
The bar is quite "camp" and fun with people chatting on the terrace, others singing and dancing inside the bar to all types of music which can be requested.
A very popular bar with Scandinavians, Dutch, English and Spanish..
The hosts are a very friendly couple speaking English, Dutch and a little Spanish.
Open daily from 4pm and on a Sunday from 6pm with free tapas which were great.

It was the height of August in Torremolinos, a season known locally as el infierno. It was hot, Too hot to do much. Having previously spent many happy nights and days enjoying the various offerings of the gay bars and clubs in the centre of the town, I thought why not have a change? Why not find somewhere a little quieter?
I decided to take a four minute walk to the Pueblo Blanco which, as it name suggests, is an area built to resemble a typical white washed village and is home to a small number of gay and lesbian run bars and restaurants.
And this where I discovered the Why Not ? - a calm and well run and managed bar. Somewhere to relax and drink on the terrace while enjoying the company of friendly and interesting people. Some are LGBT, some are not. Some are unsure. All are welcome. And all with a variety of languages too. The hosts, Brian and Danny have experience of running bars in various parts of the globe. They are polyglots and always try to ensure that no one is excluded from conversations. I returned every night for the rest of my holiday. Highly recommended. Why not try it ?
