La Tapateca on C.Salvador Allende is one of the many bars/pubs and restaurant's in Torremolinos we went to on a day trip from Benalmádena.
A superb tapas bar with fantastic staff and located in a great area'La Tapateca has a typical Spanish style interior with excellent seating options and a superb terrace.
When we visited here we sat on the terrace and ordered a few drinks which were a few bottles of San Miguel brewery lagers which where served iced cold and well priced for the beers we had and the tapas dish which they gave us.
La Tapateca is well worth visiting and easy to find from Salvador Allende bus stop it's a minute away.(This is my first review of La Tapateca).
Opening Hours.
Monday-Sunday-07.30-00.00.
Nearest Bus Stop.

Popped in for a lunch as it was raining.

A restaurant used almost only by Spanish although we were made most welcome.

Local workers lunching made for a friendly noisy atmosphere.

The lunch menu was 8.85E but we had other specialities.

Food and service were great and we intend to lunch here again before we go home.

During our six weeks in Torremolinos, we stopped by here almost every day for a drink and tapas. More often than not, Cesar, an Argentinean expat, was the waiter. A glass of white wine and a pint of beer cost less than five euro or roughly $7.50 Canadian. We should note that a glass of wine at the Tapateca – and most everywhere else in Spain – is anywhere between a fifth and a quarter of a bottle. By contrast, back home in Canada a misery glass of wine (say, 4 ounces or roughly 110 ml) can cost as much as $12 or 8 euro.

In addition, Cesar generally brought us a little tapas on the house – as he does for most anyone who simply drops by for a drink. And their food is really good. The cooks take pride in their work and it shows. The chicken curry tapas, for example, are unmatched on Calle Salvador Allende. You want a t-bone steak? They have that, too, and more. In years past, La Tapateca was almost exclusively a place for the locals but other tourists have started finding the place and that’s good: a little Spanish goes a long way in these parts…!

I spotted this cafe/ restaurant as it was close to my hotel. I saw the plate del dia menu outside and asked the family if they fancied it for one evening.

I like the fact it had attracted genuine customers .

We ordered from the plate del dia and took my 2 1/2 year old too.

It is not a fancy setting but food was fresh, well presented and good quality.

Service was genuine and professional- exactly what I like.
Lovely meal .

Thank you
