We booked the MS Maestranza through Expedia. It's location is fantastic for a Malaga city break - set a hop, skip and jump away from the newly developed port area/Pompidou Centre yet an easy stroll to the older quarter/Cathedral district, packed with history, character, charm and tradition. From the MS Maestranza you can also access the beach and promenade at La Malagueta quickly and easily.

Upon arrival, the hotel entrance may not inspire confidence, but stick with it.
Our room (1207) was located on the 12th Floor with wonderful views across the port and over to the old town. It was spacious and the beds were perfectly comfortable. Despite the wonderfully central location, the room was blissfully quiet at night time.

The inclusion of spa facilities is a welcome extra - these are located on the top floor, along with a roof terrace. Don't miss the amazing views of the bullring from here!

Easy to get to from the airport, either by bus (Euro 3 per person) or taxi (Euro 23).

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a Malaga city break.

This is a very good Hotel option in downtown Malaga. Do not judge from the small and modest lobby, the hotel is much better. Located near the new tourist port, just in front of the Pompidou Museum, a 15 min walk to the city center. Very good rooms (quiet in the higher floors), nice bathroom. Public parking available. Efficient and nice personnel everywhere. Wifi can be improved. We did not use breakfast this time, but I have used it in the past in work trips and it was very good.

I stayed with my daughter for 3 nights in a lovely room overlooking the bullring, it was a beautiful view. The room was very comfortable and clean. The only downside was that the mini-bar had been locked. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, it was all fresh and plentiful. The hotel was easy to get to from the airport (the last stop on the A bus) and was situated next to the harbour, which was lovely to walk along in the evening. There are some great shops and restaurants next to the harbour and they are open until late in the evening. It is only a 10 minute walk into the main parts of Malaga. I recommend this Hotel for comfort and location.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the bullring

This hotel looks modest from the outside, but inside you'll find friendly staff, and spacious and clean rooms. We were particularly impressed by the size of the bathroom. It's within walking distance of all the major sights in Malaga. No password needed for free WiFi.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors at the back have amazing views of the bull ring and the fortress. Rooms on front face street and may be noisier.
