A guide named Muhammad(I've forgotten his surname) guided us. He showed us very efficiently with a polite explanation at Generalife, Nasrid Palaces and so on. And he took pictures of us very well at the viewpoint. I recommend this private tour. Thank you, Muhammad.
The Alcazaba lies right in the center of Malaga. Just stepping inside the walls and all becomes tranquil. Beautifully restored ancient fort with lots of views of the city and sea. Beautiful gardens and mosaics. Well worth the 3,50€ entrance fee.
We did a morning tour of the Alhambra for general life- our guide has a degree in History so it was full of interesting facts. Morning was nice to see the place before it got full which was happening by the end of the tour
The evening tour of the 3 palaces was superb for many reasons: fewer people there at 8pm when the tour started, the lighting in the twilight and early night added much charm plus the air was cool.
Please go and see whatever you can at this exotic place. Tours can be booked months in advance. The area gets HOT in the summer. It is on a hill so there’s that component- it’s doable.
There’s a hotel in the Alhambra that use to be a convent- I’m guessing it is pricey and quite gorgeous
If you are interested in Picasso, then be sure to see his one. Most of the items are lesser known, but give a good perspective on the career and the changes that he went through.
"Charming" is a cliche, but this cliche fits the Alhambra. "Must visit" also is a cliche. And it also fits the Alhambra. Filled with gardens, fountains and Moorish architecture, it's a very secial place. It's also filled with tourists. Lots of them. Not so special. Still, who would begrudge anyone from visiting such a wonderful place. Well, perhaps I would, but I have no power of a king.
