I have stayed at this hotel many times on my walk along the Mosel and it is always my first choice. The reception is good with English spoken. I request a particular room and it is always provided. It is fairly basic, but very good for the price and for access to Trier. It is 15 minutes walk from the train station and on a local bus route. There is hotel car parking avaiaable. The breakast buffet is good and plentiful. I look forward to my next visit. Thanks to all the staff.

Room tip: Ask for a room in the Annex or one on a high floor - there is a lift.

First, I enthusiastically recommend the HOTEL PAULIN (on Paulinstrasse on block away) over Casa Chiara. Why? We arrived in Trier after a train journey, printed "reservation" in hand, and were told that there was no room reserved for us. The proprietor looked up my email thread and blamed me for not, apparently, specifically requesting a confirmation number even though I had accepted their offer and asked for details on how to pay. I was told we could pay upon arrival. This was upsetting, obviously, but the grim proprietor offered NO help such as giving another hotel a call for us. We went to the Porta Nigra tourist info and were kindly assisted in finding a beautiful room with gracious, good-humored proprietors. Saved! I can't recommend the Paulin enough! Avoid the Chiara and its grim lobby and proprietor! See my review for the Paulin.

Room tip: Avoid this hotel

This is the tenth year I have stayed at this hotel on my walking tour along the Mosel. It is very central to the town and has all the facilities you need for an overnight stay. The breakfast is more than adequate and I have never had any reason to complain. I will return next year. Thank you again.

Room tip: Ask for a room away from the front of the hotel and on a high floor to avoid any noise.

This hotel is in a good location being very near the centre, but consequently it can be noisy with road traffic, even though it is on a side road. The price for what you get is fine I suppose, and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. But the hotel is built in such a way that you can hear noise from the people in the rooms adjacent to you and above easily. There is poor sound insulation. The room was small, adequate I guess for our two night stay. Bathroom adequate but basic with shower over bath. But it was clean. Breakfast was usual continental affair, but the dining area is a little " canteen like" and quite small. All in all okay for a Quick stop over but would maybe try somewhere else next time.

Room tip: Not sure as our room was on second floor but very noisy. Lift is in central position also which added to noise level. Maybe higher up?

This hotel is in a good position, rather basic but clean, need better pillows as too soft, very friendly staff, quite good breakfast.
Trier is a very pretty place,
The hotel has an underground car park which was helpful.

Room tip: Room on 1st floor was fine.
